I like the idea of those gateway hooks. But how many flies do lose when you use those hooks. I imagine the line could come off easy.

Whats the difference between this foam and craft foam? I cannot get flies tied with craft foam to float for more than just a few seconds??

I'd say that craft foam is open cell foam and the foam in the video is closed cell foam. Open cell foam absorbs water and therefore sinks after a while.

Size 16 hackle work ok or go bigger? Was gonna get a whiting 100 pack.

Size 16 will work just fine. The Whiting 100 packs are a great value particularly in sizes 16 and 18.
