How To Tie The Surgeons Loop Knot On Braided Line

The surgeon's loop knot is a popular fishing knot for anglers who need to quickly double over their line (much faster than the Bimini Twist).
But this knot is rarely mentioned when anglers are looking to maximize their loop knots on braided line.
Why?
Well the surgeon's knot is known for having very strong breaking points for line to line connections, so it seems reasonable to believe that it will perform well for loop knots too.
So we decided to add it to our loop knot strength contest...
As described in the video, we've performed a knot strength analysis contest to get an understanding of how this knot compares to other options for this type of connection.

Have really learned a lot watching these videos on knot tying. Practicing with larger pieces of twine/cord that seems to be helping with coordination. Want to be ready with my surf gear for January!

I have co-ordination difficulties that make it impossible for me to tie the more complex loops like the bimini twist, of the simple methods do you think this is a good choice?

The surgeon loop knots at the strongest simply knot that we've tested so far.

Yes, it works great on mono a fluoro lines too.

I just tie a triple surgeon on mono, never tied it on braid I just use the surgeon for Sabikis/Double Jig Rig.

I use this knot almost exclusively, but I usually only loop into the knot once or twice. I've had my line break, but usually by getting sheared at the tip of the loop by swivels. Have you tested thisknot with one and two twists through the loop?

Yeah, I always use 3 loops and the line will break before the knot pulls (tested with 20 and 3# line).

Hey, I've been fishing since I was a boy, but I still don't understand why you need to tie different knots for braid and mono. I know it will come untied but why?

Braid hardly has any grip but mono has a lot and it’s softer so it helps dig in and lock in the knot in kinda
