Danny - big shout out for your tips and knowledge - top man! Make my own traces, and haven't had a problem as yet (fingers crossed). Like to use a sleeve over the back treble personally. As you say, you can 'recycle' so much tackle from a trace that the costs can be so much lower - don't think many anglers think that way - top tip mate! As an example - had 3 Pike to 10lb today on the 'Twitched Sprat' method I waxed lyrical with you the other week - trace was knackered at the end of the session (last fish absolutely butchered it!) but salvaged the swivel, the crimp cover, the back single Size 4, the size 8 semi barbless treble and the treble sleeve - pretty much, 85% of the entire rig!?! All of mine were easy to unhook (all on the back single) - as an avid angler and fan of your channel, and I know you've done it before, please include an unhooking tutorial. Tight lines mate - you are top dollar!

Agree with Jorvik they look in need of a good feed Any traces with bent hooks I then cut down as a lure trace

Great video 👍 I've seen other methods when making traces where once you thread the wire back through the crimp they thread the tail end back through the crimp "then" crimp it. Is there any advantages to that method..or is your method just the same?

I used all types of wire but I won't use nothing but titanium 7 strand now I put split rings on to take the hooks because the trace out lasts the hooks

A lot of long thin fish you have over there. I'd just bend the hooks back if that's as far as they've bent. Never had a problem.
