I was trying to tighten up the column, and fix my tilt steering on a 77 corvette. I watched a dozen shaky crappy quality videos where his head was in the way the whole time. This is hands down the best video there is on this.

After seeing the amount of work involved with tightening up the column, I do believe I will just live with it! Holy crap. Easier to change out the entire column!

I have watched several videos relating to GM steering column issues and your video is by far the very best. You show tremendous detail in areas that need this detail. I have a 1994 Buick LeSabre and a lot of what you covered applies to my car's steering column too. Thank you for your video.

Nicely done, sir! 1989 C-3500, carb-swapped 454/TH 400... Picked the truck up very reasonably, with only 74,000 on the clock... Had TBI issue, so it's now carbureted, with HEI... COLUMN was about as loose as yours, and it's been years since I've messed with one... Thanks for the refresher! Well done! 🤟🍻 BTW... Gonna do a little write-up on the TBI to carb swap, if anyone's interested... 😉it was super easy, and now the truck runs like a proper big-block! 🤟🇺🇸 Next steps will be shorty headers and an intake manifold...👍

Excellent job. Amazing how calm, cool and collected you can be when dealing with a tedious, interconnected crazy part like a steering wheel. Thanks for talking it through like a PRO and SHOWING every step of the way. So many videos today its like "I need to replace part x". Next frame: "ok ya I got in there and replaced it, hope it helps". Not you, you SHOWED everything. Amateurs take notes: THAT'S HOW IT IS DONE watch HorsepowerTube!

Thanks this is very helpful. Made repairing my 1985 Corvette much simpler. The wheel telescopes so it was different getting the lock plate off. After that not much difference. Great job with tips and tricks, made reassembly easy. I just kept your video queued up on my phone for reference. With this video it's not as difficult as it looks. I'll be sharing this with others. Thanks again. Joe K

Great video! My old column basically grenaded due to this and I put in a straight column that SUX about 20 years ago. I still have the 84 s10 and found a tilt column at the junkyard recently. It's not loose at all. Hopefully someone had already been through it. The truck had very high miles and there is no way an 83 wouldn't have already been through this shaky shake thing by now and my truck was loose at 130k in 1997. . It's unfortunately brown and I'd need gray or black. After watching this, it's gonna be fusion paint time. Not that I couldn't do the collar swap, cause I could, but it's too much work considering this one isn't loose....

Great tutorial my friend. I own a 94 Pontiac Trans am that I have to look into my steering wheel wobble.. and my radio functions and horn don't work. I bought a 97 firebird gt for interior parts that I'm going to swap over to my 94 project trans am. And the steering wheel is one of the things I'm going to swap over to my 94 trans am. The radio functions work great on the 97 firebird gt I bought and the horn works on it too so I'm going to swap over the steering wheels.

All the parts that should make the horn work are okay, but I have one little black metal spring leftover. I found it after taking of the plastic housing, right before taking out the pivot pins. But I have no clue where it should go. Could you help?
