Trowel in one direction not every which way and then when placing the tile press the tile perpendicular to spread the thinset into the voids and get full coverage. Lift one up time to time and see if has good coverage.

Great tip, that does make it easier, especially for clean up, and I should have called that out so I appreciate you adding that in. I decided to use what I had left over from another project to save money, which I often end up doing. I hate to waste material.

the sealer helps keep stains and dirt out of the grout

Should wipe the grout off right after you apply it ?

don't wipe it off the grout, but wipe it off the tile if it drips or runs down as soon as you can as it's easier to clean then. if it dries on the tile you can still get it off, it just takes more effort

She did that part wrong,she did a swirl pattern,when you should always go straight up all in the same direction.

Half a day to put up new tile. Let set overnight then a couple of hours the next day to apply the grout. Then wait a few days and apply sealer and that took an hour or so.

What color are your backsplash tiles and grout?

the tiles were an "antique white" but they show a little of a cool grey tone. The grout was "bright white".

Don't go off this video of you never start in a corner and come out you always figure out your layout before you set your first piece of tile the person doing this backsplash is just asking to get to the end and it looks terrible because the way the layout falls you may have little slithers of a cut at the end shoot either have to go with that or to make it right pull all the tile and start over prime example guys don't always go by KZbin sometimes they are wrong in this case are very very wrong

I'm under the impression you start in the center .... same thing with tiling floors that's how we did it when years ago my boyfriend and I and his buddy tiled the floor of a bar restaurant

Mastic is for dry areas. Thinset is for wet areas.

​@juztchilling didn't realize a kitchen backslash was considered a wet area lol. Did tile, marble and granite for years, never used thin set on a back splash, no issues. Father did it for 18 years. Same thing.
