I just brainstorm. It either sounds right or it doesn't. Then I run it by my wife, who gives me very honest feedback. She's definitely not a "yes" person, and if an idea is bad (or great), she will let me know her honest opinion. Then, I run it by my friends, and other authors online. If the general consensus is that it sounds good, and no other book has that same title (or nothing too similar), I go with it.
