In this footprint trading session Brannigan teaches how to identify market imbalances and why the footprint chart is the most significant tool for achieving this.
A market imbalance is essentially where aggressive initiative steps in and tends to indicate trend and continuation. However, too much imbalance after a large move can also show a topping out effect.
We see an imbalance example where a large difference occurs in one market rotation being more one-sided. This is symptomatic of a panic-type move where we see a surge in volume and shift in delta. The steps for trading market imbalances are as follows:
Step 1 - Go with the imbalance
Step 2 - If it fails, look for the filling out
Step 3 - If it moves back through the imbalance, look for opposite sided opportunities

Jigsaw Dom or Sierra Charts Dom if you set it up to look like jigsaws Dom. A lot of Axia traders use cumulative delta on their regular 5 minute charts. So you can see the volume increase and increase in delta that way.

in BUND, imbalance for sell (6:10), but why we buy (6:35)?

because the market retested the imbalance and it fail out with a change in the trend: probably there was an absorbtion by aggressive buyers...

This video isn't showing specifically where the instructor would place his buy and stop. I understand imbalances but it's not clear to me after watching this video if I'm trying to use the first step-trade with the imbalance-where I would put my buy order. Also, when would I pull that order and reverse it. It would also be a lot more clear if the imbalances were highlighted, something you can do quite easily in NT. I've watched this video a couple of times but I feel like it's just half the story.

The buy goes where the first retest of the imbalance occurs, assuming the volume is there and the correct delta shading. The stop goes right under the imbalance zone. Take profit is either at the next imbalance AND at your own discretion.

I wish he had marked out where (at least) the trade entries were in relation to the imbalances. Also, he said to always go “with” the imbalance but then gave 3 examples of when it goes through after filling out & to the opposite direction.

Yes they do, but you 've to do the settings for it to appear on your PC.

great video, your footprint set-up looks nice, I use Sierra chart , for my footprint set-up, so far its been. giving very good results But a day came, I saw the sellers were more than the buyers. so sold. But to my ssurprise buyers were in control, as a matter of fact price moved up a 100 plus pips. Please can shed more light on this matter? thank you.

I guess it may depend on the timeframe you were watching. Because I believe only aggressive buyers/sellers (paired with passive buyers/sellers) drive market moves.

Aggressive sellers hit the bid and got absorbed which would look as if it’s a strong sell but it’s not. Once they realise theres a big passive buyer they’ll puke and buy back into the market to fuel the move
