I saw a dude get a tire iron through his rib cage, into his lung, from carrying it on a pack. I think I would strongly, strongly consider putting anything like that on the bike, somewhere. Hose clamp it to a frame, zip tie it somewhere...you seriously don't want anything like a knife or a saw on you in a wreck.

Man... how have I never heard of the nitromousse's, or just mousse inserts in general? Wish I knew about those and the tusk tires before buying some Pirelli MT16 Garacross's and tubes a few weeks back. Just got them installed last weekend and still have a bit of work to do to rebuild my bike, so we'll see how I like them. Got em in a combo pack for the same price as the 2 tusks would be but not a gummy and reviews of the Pirelli's are either people love them or hate them. Haha. See what side I'm on and hope they don't chunk easily like some people seem to have issues with. After I get a pinch flat and burn through the Pirelli's, definitely going nitromousse and tusk gummy. Throw em on my wife's bike too. Will be so nice to not have to carry spare tubes and some tire irons. Just found your channel a few days ago and it has been awesome. Appreciate all the great info and testing you guve us!

Josh, this is the second time I’ve watched this video. I guess that’s good because I got answers to 3 questions already. 😂 I recently converted to both the Tusk Talon tires and Nitro mouses. Can you tell me which size Nitro Mousse to use with the Talon 80/100-21? Thanks and stay safe.

Thanks for sharing. You should try the Quadlock wireless charger. It eliminates that charging cable and is more reliable. I also use a ruggedized phone so I don't ruin my iPhone. The vibration can kill your camera. I love Gaia GPS. I have given up on dedicated GPS units.

The quadlock vibration dampener eliminates nearly all of the vibration. I’ve been running my iPhone on it for over 12 months and haven’t had any issues. I do own the quadlock “mag lock” case which I use in my truck. The wireless charging is really nice. But the mag lock eliminates the classic twist locking which is what makes quadlock so strong. Unless there is a way to use the twist lock with wireless charging. I may not be aware of that method.

@@ridewiththeknights I actually use a wireless charger made by Hondo Garage. It is very robust and does not require a special phone case. Ruggedized phones are so thick they often won't charge if using a case. I have had so many power problems over the years due to vibration and dust. I really like the wireless solution.

I rub the quad lock setup with onX maps. I'm curious if you've tried onX and if so why do you like Gaia better?
@ridewiththeknights
@ridewiththeknights Жыл бұрын
I have limited experience with On X. Last time I tried it I preferred the map layer options on GAIA. Both are comparable services and can get the job done.

Hi Josh, love watching you and your dads vids. Hope he's doing well, haven't seen anything from him since he crashed on his last vid. Have to be careful with those Baofengs, they have the ability to transmit on frequencies licensed to Amatuer Radio, not just GMRS. Normally you are not supposed to be able to purchase a transmitter that can broadcast on Amatuer bands without an Amatuer License (Ham Radio License) but Amazon and Baofeng have been skirting that rule for years.

where can someone free ride a mountain like that clip in the video. The one where you are going over logs and not on a single track or a trail. Is there anything like that in utah?

What about extra fuel? how do you refuel & ride all day until dark?
@ridewiththeknights
@ridewiththeknights Жыл бұрын
Sometimes we pack extra fuel in small containers, sometimes we make it back before dark, sometimes we run out of gas and don’t make it back before dark.

are you able to hear other people on the radio while riding, or do you need to stop and turn off the bike?
@ridewiththeknights
@ridewiththeknights Жыл бұрын
Usually we stop to communicate best. It is difficult to hear over the engine noise. We usually communicate most to clarify junction or vague routes.

So we run tublis for more traction and more trils type rear tires to leave less tracks going into secret trails. Than pack chainsaws to keep sed trails open. And we do not alow cell phones on rides because of tracking, sharing apps .

No elbow, knee or chest protector? How does that vest fit with a chest protector, have you tried it?
@ridewiththeknights
@ridewiththeknights Жыл бұрын
No elbow pads. Yes knee pads No chest protector when using the vest. That’s my preference. The Klein vest provides enough coverage I feel safe when wearing just the vest. My trail riding is also lower intensity. During all other off-road riding I wear an Alpinestars under jersey chest protector.
