Thank you for this video. It is so helpful to see a horse learning and not just horses that are consistent. This is how we learn! MUCH appreciated Amelia!

You can see that once he starts to get it, there's no longer a hollowness behind the saddle and you can see the engagement from behind. Thanks for showing us the struggles!

WOW - So fun to watch you two working that trot! "need expression" is something we all see in judges comments. Thanks for fleshing it out so clearly.

This was really helpful! It was especially helpful that you chose a horse that was not already accomplished / finished in the training. Thank you!

Thankyou Amelia. The best video I’ve come across explaining how to introduce an expressive trot . So clear with great tips…..enabling to to really try and not give up. I have yet to succeed but now I feel pretty confident. LindaClark

Thank you for the video, very instructive especially when he breaks into canter which happens to my horse. Plenty for the rider to work on with the aid’s which is where I am at. Your videos are great Amelia 😊❤

Love your videos but is he off on the left hind? There's some unevenness happening in the hip, you especially see it in the left rein work
@AmeliaNewcombDressage
@AmeliaNewcombDressage Жыл бұрын
No he isn't, but he is weaker. Horses have a strong and a weak side, and it takes time to develop them evenly. If you continue to watch you will see his progression.

Laod up the hind leg? Are you putting more weight behind with your body ? ❤ working on this with my horse. 😊
@AmeliaNewcombDressage
@AmeliaNewcombDressage Жыл бұрын
Yes, by adding leg in timing with half halts to encourage them to carry weight behind

Amelia, I am a subscriber on both my desktop and my phone and I have another question for you!!! How did you cue this horse to speed up yet stay in a trot? Also, once the trot is subtle and controlled, how can I teach my horse to have a more expressed trot? Need I do this with crop cuing from the ground first? Which cue did you give when leading from a natural trot to the expressed? I do not want to teach her one way and then confuse her so I am waiting for your response. Trot is good but the expression is poor. How can I teach the expression properly and then cue from saddle? Steps would be greatly appreciated so I can ,master each one before checking it off the list. HEEELLLPPP

@@AmeliaNewcombDressage Thanks Amelia! I watched and while the video was EXTREMELY helpful, is is the steps from ground to saddle teaching that expression I would like to see you do. That expression in one spot was absolutely beautiful on the first horse! Would I train this from the ground first and use the whip to stimulate lifts of each leg first. That is how I am currently doing so but forgive me, what in the world can you do for the back feet with this trot?

I once saw a horse that would gallop so slow that he only moved forward aout 1 to 2 ft at a time. Does anyone know how a horse is taught to do that?

Hi that's a great video My horse Junior is in appendix I'm also on your rider seat position challenge I was wondering when you have time could you please make a video on exactly how to get my horse around up he's not doing it ever since all the rains out here in California he took too much time off and I've been writing them for a month straight and he's having a hard time coming up underneath himself and thus having a hard time for me to get him to cancer He's too much on the front cuz you possibly do that so I can watch it and try to fix my horse
