I have so much respect for the trainers that train and teach puppies with the understanding that they are STILL PUPPIES and understand that they’re not perfect yet but also know how much potential they have as a breed thank you for being one of those amazing trainer that doesn’t force but instead encourages the puppy to want to do the work with you💙💙💙

It's a cross between a Golden Retriever and Poodle, 2 of the most intelligent, loyal, eager to please dogs on the planet. Really a great combo and you can see it by the way this little guy is learning. The Poodle is 2nd smartest dog after the border collie if I am not mistaken but wonderful session, you guys both killed it.

@KibatheMalinois Жыл бұрын
@@johnnyb0899 lol I have many exceptions. I own a purebred Malinois with pedigree and everything. He's got the drive, look and intensity to show for it but there are many great dogs that are not purebred but can can do the job just as well if not better than their more branded counter parts. On Sunday I'm probably going to be checking out a 7month old mix of grandmaster champion border collie and a working line DDR Shepherd. Breeder says it was an accidental breeding but she's leaning more towards the DDR side so going to test her prey drive and confidence. If she meets my standards I'm probably going to take her and use her with my Mali for IGP.
@johnnyb0899 Жыл бұрын
@@KibatheMalinois oh don’t get me wrong growing up we had lots of mutts. They can be good even perfect pets. I just don’t see the point. People complain all the time about how many dogs fill up the shelters pretty much year round these days. And what are they full of….. mutts. Because people get them don’t know anything about what kind of breeds they are or how they will turn out. But to be fair to all dogs, 95% of people should NOT NOT NOT be pet owners. I swear people don’t understand dogs and how they should be raised. But the reason I stated in my last reply that I was okay with golden doodles is because they’ve know been breed somewhat steadily for years now. And golden doodle enthusiasts are trying to get people to be more responsible with breeding them because they want it to be a permanent breed. Now that won’t ever happen because so many people keep breeding different ones for example breeding a F1 with F2BB to get whatever….

I noticed you’re not introducing him to the e-collar like most of your other videos. Is there a minimum age you recommend for e-collar use, or a specific part of the training process when it should be introduced? Thanks for all the info, your videos have been very informative.
@tgty55192 жыл бұрын
Yes, don't e-collar a puppy. You can correct with other ways at that age, you are not looking for the perfect heel or anything when it is that young. I would say probably 6 months before e-collar or even prong collar. Unless you know exactly what you are doing with it which, no offense at all, is probably not the case. I'm not saying that you don't know how to use it, but knowing how to use it with a grown dog and with a puppy is VERY different. In that sense, you maybe don't know how to. (and I don't too)

random question for you or anyone who knows, but let's say the puppy is attentive and you're training it in sessions of 3-5 min... what should we be doing with their time when not training? @jonathanhmontalvo892 Жыл бұрын
That was exactly my question too!
@mischeviator Жыл бұрын
you shouldn't only train during sessions. if you do, some dogs learn to only listen if they know its a session. if you're in the house and they're settling perfectly, reward it. just little sporadic rewards for niche things help lots, and in my opinion sometimes more than sessions. don't give your puppy complete freedom of the house and always have them supervised so they don't build any bad habits while you aren't looking (countersurfing, chewing up things, digging, etc.)

Why in God's name, do you people put your dogs in crates? That is 100% CRUEL. Crates were intended for traveling ONLY. Not for dogs to live in or be some kind of babysitter, because people lack in teaching their dogs and being able to trust your dogs. It's upsetting that people think this is acceptable. Reminds me of a dog fighting scenario, where they put those dogs in. If you cant teach your dogs, without crates, dont have a dog then. The only time a dog should ever be in some crate or cage is when the dog is at the groomers, the hospital or traveling, people
