Hey nat, the reason why Drago can control his alpha is that he found the dragon when it was just an egg, you can see this in "race to the edge". His alpha even when it is million times bigger is scared of Drago because of the trauma, he still thinks that Drago can hurt him. Edit: the metal stick was a tool in real life to cuase the same effect with elephants(for circus purpose).

Stoick’s Death in How to Train your Dragon 2 is still the saddest death in any animated film/show for me personally, because I became so emotional invested in his character over the years. I saw the first movie and all of the Dragons: Riders of Berk episodes and watched his character progress from hating dragons to having one of his own. Then I saw the second movie 4 years later and watched him reunite with his wife after he thought he had lost her forever. He was so happy that his family was finally back together again, then moments later he died trying to protect what he had just gotten back. And on top of that Drago forced Toothless to kill him, and Stoick had accepted Toothless into his family and the last thing he saw was him jumping in front of a blast protecting his only son from dying to his best friend… That broke me. He was a great man, a warrior, a chieftain, a father, a friend. *Rest In Peace Stoick Haddock the Vast. Your legend and sacrifice will never be forgotten.*

The red death was a selfish queen who ruled through fear, same as Drago's Bewilderbeast who used his status to control. Valka's Bewilderbeast was nurturing and was respected rather than forcing his control on the others. My favorite moment in this film is the moment Hiccup is announced as Chief in the end. As a story beat it's the obvious way to progress the narrative but the animation and attention to detail is phenomenal. As we slowly slow push in on a CU of his face, you can tell he takes a deep breath, preparing himself for that responsibility. As a viewer you can totally feel the weight of his new title. The score during this moment perfectly mirrors it too, it all sounds and feels very heavy.

Yeah, I agree; thumbnails can really spoil things at times. The best time for movie watching and purchasing though was in the mid 80's. Movies had hand painted artwork for their promotional campaigns. They were truly works of art. For example the cover art for the movie "Big Trouble in Little China" was excellent. As the 80's were nearing their end though Live photos were starting to be copy/pasted onto VHS covers and movie posters. Then came the beginnings of photoshop and now here we are with digitally crafted collages.

My dad almost put one of our dogs down when we were kids. One of the dogs bit my brother (barely broke the skin, was fixed with 2 band-aides) and my dad came into the room because my brother was crying and the dog yelped. As son as my brother told him the dog bit him, my dad instantly thought he would have to put the dog down. Upon further inspection, he realized that the dog's ear was bleeding. See, she was a nice dark brown color. And upon further questioning, my brother admitted he bit her ear first because he thought it was chocolate. That dog never bit anyone again (because no one bit her again), and my brother also never bit a dog again. So seeing the instant reaction of pushing away the dragon after his father was hurt...even under different circumstances, always reminds me of that story and the 13 amazing years I got to spend with her. This is my favorite trilogy, and I'm glad you reacted to it.

Pretty sure the joke was him calling himself ugly

"I had a facial and had a huge allergic reaction..." That can sometimes happen if the guy just had really spicy food.

There's a series on Netflix (Dragons race to the edge) that takes place between the first and second movies. It's really good and the final season tells you how Drago got the bewilderbeast (the big alpha dragon). It also develops Hiccup and Astrid's relationship more and it just has a lot of cool and intricate plots. And so so so many new types of dragons that are so cool! Plus, the relationship with toothless and hiccup throughout the show is amazing and adorable! I highly recommend it!

@@drakeredwingofficial Really? Because I looked it up in the search engine, she didn't react to any of them.

@@ogbunb622 I think she watched them on her own. She constantly gives Harry Potter references in her other reactions. pretty sure she's seen them all already. 5:05 in this video is another reference

Something to note that they will also do in the next film is that both Drago and Hiccup were armed/injured by a dragon but the went the opposite direction in how their life changed by that event.
