Would you suggest training with treats like this when they are hungry or do you think the treats work as an incentive even if they have eaten already? I recently got my first kits and wanted to do some training, especially with nipping and biting as they go pretty hard (the boy in particular) but I also usually leave food available to them as they don't eat a lot all at once but rather go and get some bits every now and then, and I don't want them to feel stressed about not having food available.

Hey, I love your Ferret info. Doing my best to soak it all in. This may be a dumb question, however, I'm curious about you having the raw food on the floor and then stepping in the same places with your socks. Am I just uneducated about raw chicken? That just seems to go against everything I've learned about making sure to wipe down all areas touched by raw chicken. You even let them stash it? Is there somewhere in particular that you might talk about this in more detail? Thanks! :)

I apologize for this post being long but I didn’t know how else to reach you. I appreciate your wisdom about feeding raw. However I am a 58 yr old who inherited my son’s 2 yr old Marshall ferret. He is strongly imprinted on Marshall kibble & treats. I followed your recommendation on switching to raw starting with the chicken soup. For several weeks he vehemently protested. Then he spent a day licking off my finger. The next day he actually ate it from the spoon, and I was so excited and thought we were on the way to a raw diet. However after that one day he would never do it again only gags and throws his head back. Out of common sense & fear I gave him his kibble so that he wouldn’t starve to death. Not only will he not eat raw but now he will barely eat his kibble. What do you recommend when they simply will not eat raw and have lost their appetite for anything other than Marshall treats. Aside from his eating issues he his happy and heathy but I’m not sure for how long. I love this little guy even though he’s a Marshall ferret (they can’t help where they come from they still need to be loved) any advice would be helpful. Btw just like children, no two ferrets are alike . Thank you.

I have a mentoring program to help people such as yourself! Vomiting is quite common in the initial transition until their stomach pH balances itself out. pazuandfriends.blogspot.com/p/mentoring-program.html?m=1
@kimberlyprice87384 жыл бұрын
Pazuandfriends he hasn’t had any vomiting issues. And yes I did check out the mentoring program no one ever got back with me and I found out that it’s basically the same advice that you have shared. The problem is he was a healthy weight eating good (even though it was junk food) but every since trying to switch he won’t eat not even the junk. I have been able to get him to eat an egg. How long before I should do something drastic and then I don’t know what that would be. His vet says he’s very healthy but that was before I tried switching. I have raised 6 children and to me he’s acting like a rebellious teenager 😩 kids I know about ferrets not so much . That’s why I’m asking for help
@ferretsofthegalaxy27044 жыл бұрын
Kimberly Price [Mod] Hi the mentoring program is different from the information on the channel you will have access to many things such as videos and meal plans exclusive to the mentoring program and Bryn’s advice for the rest of the time you have ferrets. If he is not eating for a lengthened period of time take him to the vet. Switching to raw is a very tedious process but not impossible if you haven’t had any luck and he starts eating again I would join the program! Hope this helps good luck!

This is totally of topic but if you feed commercial grinds how many bones do you add per day? And lets say I get coarse ground chicken, can I get turkey neck for bones? PS: I love your toes XD they look comfy
@eviolus-56604 жыл бұрын
Personally I feed a grind in the morning and a neck, wing or foot every evening and that's worked well for me but I'd say definitely adjust if the poo is runny or lumpy
@Pazuandfriends4 жыл бұрын
If you’re going to do a mix of both it must be balanced. 10 meals of grinds, 3 meals of bone in meat and a single meal of 1/2 heart 1/2 organs (1/2 of that being liver)

Turkey necks are also very bone dense and you need to be careful feeding them. Other bone like quail, rabbit, duck neck, chicken frame are safer

Hi pazuandfriends, I know this isn't a video for questions, I know it might be late where you are but it is not over here I do not know where you live, but I have a small cage for my ferrets right now. I am getting a new ferret cage (ferplast ferret cage grey) for two ferrets. I was wondering if that is a good size or not. I know the ferret nation is known as the best which I am also saving for in the future and I am going to try to merge the cages together to make it bigger. I have watched your ferret guides and have researched info for ferrets. Please answer my question and thanks for improving my ferret car. Bye ❤
@ferretsofthegalaxy27044 жыл бұрын
[Mod] Hi the double ferret nation is the only recommended cage for ferrets at this time. The Single ferplast is small and is not the best option for two ferrets or more. If possible instead of spending the money on the ferplast check Craigslist, offer up, let go, etc for people seeking the ferret nation for cheap. Starting with the best cage is the most cost effective option and will be the best to bring your new babies home! Hope this helps!

[Mod] Hi the use of chicken breast in this video is for training purposes. You are correct that chicken breast is not the most nutritional thing for ferrets but it has a good use for training and it will not greatly affect the ferrets balanced raw meals throughout the week. Hopefully this helps this channel also has a bunch of raw feeding videos and meal preps!
