This is the best tip I've seen for getting my right side matched up through impact- stops me hitting from the top, but most importantly stops me firing my right hip forward, coz if I do it gets in the way of my hands and arms! This, the leg separation and the broom drill I've found really effective. Thanks Jon

Love your "cover the ball" video for solid iron shot. It has helped me hitting my long irons straighter and longer. Before this my long irons were weak and fade. Thank you.

This is best drill for me, specially for long shot! Thank you for trail elbow drill.

This is something I've been working on myself, because the feeling of keeping my trailing elbow below my leading elbow seems to fix my coming over the top and casting the club.

It definitely will, keep it up Martin

This is my first comment. I like your presentation very much. Your style is calm and. Coherent. By coincidence, this technique is what I managed to remember on the driving range today. Guys, it will definitely improve your game if you practice it. Good luck.!

Great looking tip. Love to challenge you to show a clip that shows the basics of a good grip, stance, alignment and then the three components of the swing - back swing, impact zone position and follow through. That would show how to simplify a complex action . I look forward to it 😀👍

Hi Peter, I’ve done all separately but I think the video would be too long and too much info all in one!? Could only really talk about a model swing, in reality impact is key and would only work on something if it’s going to positively effect that!

Since I got such a good answer I may have a question I’m here if this from the trap I know that the hands move quicker than the body the hands in your arms quicker than the body does that mean that the hands stay up as a body starts to move could you clarify that for us please
@TruGolfAcademy5 жыл бұрын
I think I understand what you’re asking Howie. I would definitely encourage people to feel the downswing starts from the ground up, the feel of leaving the hands up can work great for those that dominate with there upper body in the downswing. One area fires then slows to let the next body area fire. Hands being the last into impact. However happening soo quickly it’s hard to feel. Try throwing a ball and you will feel the sequence of events needed!

Love the video, but focusing on my elbow I have noticed causes other issues. I am a right handed player and instead of focusing on my elbow I just try to get my right/trail forearm to drop under my lead/left arm and then turn my hips to get hands into impact. Thoughts?
@gingercat7775 жыл бұрын
Keep the "waiters tray" feeling in the right wrist for as long as possible on the down swing is simpler and more effective....but....turning the left hip/left knee is the FIRST movement of the transition.

Sounds like the same idea Eric. Only problem tends to be when players lose spine angle : shoulder plane when trying to keep the arm or elbow low. Also keep pressure is moving towards the lead side 👍🏻

Hogan’s best kept secret? At the top of the downswing, the trail elbow leads the trail hand. Never the other way around. Think of a football ball player throwing a football and believe me it will help yours and everyone else’s swing who tries what I call ‘The Magic Elbow of Golf’ Cheers!
@dtgps5 жыл бұрын
Hogans best kept secret was to have all five levers working in a common plane. He called that the SLOT. When all five levers work in a common plane, the trail elbow falls naturally to the trail hip, becoming the fulcrum for the torso turning to square the clubface.

mikal Agree and the magic trail elbow with it’s radial and ulnar nerve endings is the one gear in the body that remarkably communicates to all the rest of our gears in our body to do just that Since I discovered my magic trail elbow and the authority it plays on shifting my weight on my lead side; as well as opening up my lead side; I love swinging the club. Hope you discover the magic trail elbow for yourself and the ease in which it gives you or anyone who swings a golf club. Today I posted a video of my excitement using my own magic trail elbow as my one and only swing thought.

@@thomasfraser9072 wonderful that you have a magic elbow. What about the over 200 bones and 600 muscles also involved in the complex movement we call golf swing? Nice you believe in magic.
@dtgps5 жыл бұрын
More than 80% of neurons in the motor cortex are concentrated on our face and our hands. The rest of the body, including elbows support what our intention of the leaders: face and hands.

If starting down well it would probably be your move through impact. Swinging too much at the target 🎯 getting the hands and club to move more in on an arc would help 👍🏻
