LOL, this actually is the ONLYreason I dont upgrade from my tab s3 to the new s7 I'm touching on 70, computer challenged, have no idea of my passwords and in the past when I've attempted to do something like this I end up in a jumble of labyrinths of confusion 🥴🤯 I pull email accounts for work and for home from four different places one of which has been given to me through Outlook and who knows what the proxies and protocols and oh my God, wi fi passwords... this is enough stress to put me over the edge. I have no idea what I'm getting into. I wish there was someone to come here and just get it done but I'll end up with a twelve-year-old Geek Squad kid coming over on a bicycle and has less idea of what he's doing that even I do. LOL even the video above confused me transferring from and to the two tablets, they should have been switched the data was switching backwards from right to left. Ha ha... 🤪

you can reset/request your password and then you'll be fine. use a password manager like Lastpass to manage ALL your 100s of complicated and hopefully all diff passwords using just one password

You skipped over the sd card trans. I have tab s2 I have to move items from internal to sd card do to capacity. It seems like it just dumps files into sd card when I moved files there. My question because I'm getting tabs7 with 512gb. If I trans using smart switch and check the sd contents will that go back to internal drive on tabs7 into the right file catagories. Thanks

you can go into storage for each app and if they can be moved / offloaded to the Sd card you can still move them back but ALL apps that are on your SD card will auto move back to internal storage anytime you update the app in the google play store (yeah big pain) so its a never ending process to move them back to the external SD card. only way around that is to hack/jail break it . root it which you dont want to deal with, so yes even if you choose to copy over the contents of the SD card it will try and move it to the internal card i believe

best to optimize the old one and do updates on it BEFORE you start this process to transfer only clean data

How do I transfer my stuff if my old tablets screen is totally broken. I know it's still working because I still get notification sounds for everything I just cannot see anything the screen went all kinds of colors and then black. I got squashed in my suitcase. Thanks baggage dudes!!

BTW it might be better to buy a new LARGER SD card that is blank for the new tablet and then copy over all the stuff from the old SD card to the new one so you end up with more space and a new SD card as the more an SD card is written to the more chance for failure so new is good and they arent that much for a 128 GB size. most likely your old SD card will be only 32 or 64 GB.

None of this works. Samsung is sending me into endless loops unlocking some secure folder, assigning passwords and constantly shutting down telling me to reconnect, regardless of whether I am using wireless or cable. Frustrating. It's S3 to S8 if you're wondering.
