I tried this, but as soon as I first login to my new iPhone using the OTP, WhatsApp gets logged out of my old iPhone and it shows me the WhatsApp welcome screen on my old iPhone, due to which I’m not even able to scan the code or anything using my old iPhone. Please help.

@@NeaCutare01 if you’re not able to transfer chats properly via the method shown in the video, then the last possible option is to buy iCloud subscription for 1 month, then take your WhatsApp backup in your old iPhone, then restore that backup in your new iPhone. I’m yet to try this, still gonna try the method shown in video first.

I had the same problem as the comments below where it would just show my old chats on the new iphone and I found the solution. Add the new iphone as a linked device to the old iphone, Then tap account and log out of the new iPhone. Then follow all the exact steps above and it will be registered correctly

Ok Guys, there si something he didn’t mention, the next thing you are going to to after you install whatsapp on your new iPhone, is to sign off of your iCloud account on the new iPhone, because if you keep with your Apple ID, whatsapp is going to try to backup your chats and if you don’t have a complete backup, the process shown in the video won’t work at all, so that’s all

It works! Thank you so much for this tutorial. Tho i’d like to add, make sure to sign out your icloud on the new phone before reinstalling the whatsapp or else it’ll suggest you to restore from iCloud directly. Also, transfer the sim card to the new phone the moment it requested to check on local network. Not before receiving the verification code via sms or call from the old phone. The rest is just the same as the creator suggested. Thank you again!

Try to delete all unnecessary videos and documents from WhatsApp , Go to Settings then Storage and Data then Manage Storage. Try to Delete large files from chats.

If u have large amount of data soke times it gets canceled and u cam lose all ur data but if u dont have a large amount of data u might not need the back up but for safer side backup ur data

Try logging into your old phone. Most probably the chats are not yet deleted. Happened to me once after finding the chats are not updated on new iPhone because there was no iCloud backup for WhatsApp 😅.

As long as you don’t delete the WhatsApp app on your old phone, the chat history will be still there when you log back in. The same happens to me when I was at Apple Store the guy knows nothing
