I can't seem to get the timing on the next track right. Sometimes I get lucky but mostly I don't. Its perfect how you get the timing of the current and the break of the next track, I'm not sure if I missed a video of yours showing how to do that.

I do this all the time with Traktor and key lock. Works great going from house to hip hop etc. NOTE: If your using sync for anything please learn to beatchmatch old school first. Sync does not always work perfect and u need to know your basics or u will trainwreck :)

I've literally used all your techniques at least once in my mixes (especially love using the pause and echo effect that you use after you end most of your mixes). If someone uses this technic on any DJ competition, will he/she be banned/disqualified? Afaik using transition song still okay, editing song with DAW is okay, but using sync....I know it's okay on club environment, but what about in DJ competition, and what do you suggest? Didnt get the trick at first viewing, had to watch it again, but its a really clever technique, to take advantage of the sync button while actually beatmatching (somehow) after, but I'm not sure that it can work with all kind of songs, especially hip-hop with sometimes vocals in the outro section and shout out or tags in the next song's intro, etc...

I just bought a DDJ400 recently. I dont understand something about the BPM of a deck. Tempo slider not changing BPM properly. It seems like workin, there is an another BPM written on the selected deck under the main, big fonted BPM value, and its changing when I move the slider. I checked the track as master too. @djcarlo I know this is going to sound stupid but I never know what master means or which song is supposed to be master, and I never know whether I'm meant to have both sync buttons clicked or one or the other, it seems like it's meant to be simple but I just can't get my head around it. I end up being limited to only using songs that are a similar bpm because they're all just going to sync to whatever the first song I put on is anyway 😢

The Master function serves as the primary controller for the currently active songs. In a scenario with two decks, when one deck is inactive while the other is playing with its volume up, the system automatically designates that active deck as the Master. Consequently, if Sync is activated, the BPM of the Master Deck becomes the guiding tempo for the synchronization process :)

@@djcarlo thank you so much! So on the ddj 400 would that mean that I'd each time have to click the sync button on the deck that isn't the master? I've noticed sometimes one sync button is red and the other is off, sometimes one is red and the other is flashing, sometimes rekordbox puts a red "sync is now off" message at the bottom of my laptop screen when I try to adjust the beat to the grid while in sync using my jog wheels then I have to click a sync button again to put it back on and I never know which one. I look everywhere for an answer but it always just says "use sync" and I'm like "but hooowww?!" haha

I'd recommend switching it manually if your deck doesn't have a master button. Try pressing both sync decks as well
