I have gray hair, and after looking at some models, I did the big shop and I looked like an old man. After I relaxed it again, I decided to let my hair grow out naturally. For me, this is the best way to go. Think before you do the big chop. I’ll never do that again.

My hair is waist length and I love being able to just put it in a bun. I feel like I’m getting impatient but I’m trying to remember that it’s easier to bun it than big chop and have to style it at the moment. I think I’m going for a year or maybe 1 and 1/2 years this time around. I wish there were more videos of ppl in their transitioning phase.

Hey love! So I’m thinking about transitioning with doing protective styles and keeping my hair concealed; this may be a stupid question but how do you keep your hair moisturized and treated during that process? How often do you wash and do deep conditioning Do you use natural products while transitioning or after the big chop? How often did you typically leave your sew ins and protective styles in? Please helppppppppppp

It's going to take time to transition back to it's natural texture. Make sure you keep your hair mosturized. Drink water, eat vitamin rich foods. I'm 5 months into transitioning back to my 3b/3c/4a hair. I just took out my hair out of a protective style. I'll wash it and deep condition, then check the progress. Use a statin hair bonnet or pillow case when you sleep.

Question. The back of my hair returned to ita original state but the front ia straight now when wet. The roots are curly about 3 inches. I don't wanna do a big chop cause I still got healthy hair in the back. The hair thats straightened is from getting weaves & manipulating my leaveout. What should I do to make my straight hair go back to curly?

noname you should starting adding protein to your routine, deep conditioners, steam, Clay masks, and of course patience.. if it’s heat damaged then at some point you’re going to have to cut it, but try everything I listed for a couple of months first bc I have heat damage since September and I’ve been doing everything I mentioned about and a lot of my straight ends are FINALLY starting to curl back up, but of course it’s not my entire head.. so yeah just be patient and try some things to strengthen your hair to help stop breakage and retain some length. And also what Alexus said, protective styles .

when i texturized my hair a month ago, my roots straightened instead of my ends because i guess we put more texturizer near my roots and i didn't leave it in for long. so how would transition if the top half of my hair is straight and the bottom half is curly

@@hadjaomorou i wasn't able to get an answer but i haven't texturized my hair since february so i've just been letting my hair grow out and i'm guessing that's all i can do so i just let it grow out and when my natural hair gets to a good length i cut off the dead texturized parts. sorry i couldn't give you a better answer :(

@@m3laaa oh no it’s ok , n I’m sorry I didn’t text back sooner usually yt gives me a notfitxation when I get replies but anyway , so your new growth has been coming in and it’s curly so is the bottom half straight now or like when it’s wet curly on top straight then little curls on the bottom of that even makes sense 😭

@@hadjaomorou yeah so the bottom half of my hair is part straight and curly. so the top of my head is natural and kinkier then the middle of my hair is kinda straight and then my ends are very loose curls/waves

Theyylovekayy you can grow out your roots but the part you relaxed will still be relaxed if you want it to be all natural you have to cut off the relaxer
