I started transitioning a few years ago and it's good to remember that you don't need all of those hair products and oils in your hair. Continue to use what work for you..don't get caught up using held and edge control products if that's not what you are normally using.The big chop will come when you're tired of looking at those long stringy ends. Enjoy your journey, get info. that's applicable to you..good luck my sisters!!

My hairs looks exactly the same right now I'm transitioning as well. I've always been on the fence about it because I love my hair straight but after I had braids for the first time recently, my hair was matted and I lost a lot of hair and I just wanted to start off new because I was tired of the uncertainty of my hair breaking off if I didn't relax it in time. I just want to know how did you keep so much of your relaxed hair?
@BeingDaphne8 жыл бұрын
Wow, I'm sorry to hear you lost some hair. I guess for me I was able to grow it out for so long was because I wasn't really doing anything with it. 95% of the time I kept it in a bun. I definitely got more breakage at the crown of my head and a bit more overtime as I was growing it out. That's why I big chopped when I did because I just couldn't make what I had work anymore. Holding on to the straight ends wasn't worth it to me at that point. I'm so glad I cut it! I feel way more confident with my natural hair! I hope this helps at least a little! Good luck with everything!!

im really thinking about cutting mine. im so nervous, please you got any tips for really short hair
@BeingDaphne8 жыл бұрын
Yeah it is a bit nerve racking to cut ur hair. But if u are tired of it like I was, it is such a relief to finally cut it. I had maybe 3 inches of curly hair when I cut mine so not super short but not long enough to put up. For short hair I recommend some stylish headbands to wear if u want to jazz it up. Also earrings are a good accessory for a mini fro. And of course confidence! I'm sure u will look great! Good luck with whatever u decide! 👍🏾😁

ok...i just started transitioning few weeks ago althoug i didnt have the big chop yet but its kinda difficult combing ma hair from the root ....i feel this pain while combing and think i need a better moisturiser... tips on what to use in making combing easier.thanks
@BeingDaphne7 жыл бұрын
GBEMISOLA FAGBO for me it is waaaaay easier to comb my hair in the shower. Use whichever conditioner you like, I prefer Shea Moisture, and comb it while it's slick with conditioner and wet under the water. It will glide through! Hope this helps!

What products do u use other than coconut oil?
@BeingDaphne4 жыл бұрын
Shanice Richards I’ve been wanting to find new products to use because I want to test a theory that too much coconut oil is leading me to have too much shedding.. I unfortunately don’t have any recommendations right now but I have used Shea Moisture and Matrix Biolage before with fine results. Trying to find better things. Sorry that’s not much help

how long do i grow out my relaxed hair because i recently relaxed my hair and u want go back to natural how long do i grow it out and chop it
@BeingDaphne8 жыл бұрын
Well I waited a little over a year til I finally cut off the relaxer. It wasn't super short but shorter than I've ever had it. Typically hair grows about six inches in a year, prob more like three for fros since shrinkage makes it look shorter. But really it's whenever ur ready! Good luck with everything!! 👍🏾😁

Queenie .pilpil Hi! Unfortunately the only way to make it all natural is to let the roots grow out long then cut off the parts that were permed. Once you chemically alter your hair you can’t make it go back to truly natural. Hope this helps! Good luck with whatever you decide to do with your hair 😊
