I wish I had done the things you recommended in this video when I was transitioning! I was NOT patient and didn't want to go through the awkward/uncomfortable phase, so instead I opted for the instant gratification of having long, curly hair by using clip in extensions. It looked great and gave me the look I wanted in the moment, but I ended up missing out on having that hair naturally b/c I wasn't taking care of my natural hair in the meantime. So here I am, 3 1/2 years later almost starting all over again as a result 🤦🏽‍♀️

Ahhhhh I totally get that. It really is such a difficult thing to go through the awkward phases but protective hairstyles and keeping your eye on the prize is super helpful 😛 soooo hard though I don’t blame you hahahah

this makes me feel so happy! I’m literally starting on my freshman year of college too( well towards the end now) but i’m feeling so happy about it but sometimes I always want to remind myself that’s it’s actually worth it & watching your video means so much to me!! I can relate with everything you said, thank you!! 🫶🫶

I am transitioning right now. I've always styled my hair with my natural curls, but the first time I straighten it in a hair salon, I lost all my curls and it was devastating. It´s been 6 moths since then, and the transition is showing. I'm just to exited to cut all the straighten hair of and have my curls back. And thanks to your video I've set a date to cut it off. Thank you for inspiring me and all the girls with wavie and curly hair

It’s sooo devastating going to a hair salon and ending up with damage :( I’m so excited for your journey though! It’ll be super rewarding :) thank you for watching 💖

I am actually transitioning for soon 1year, I just want to cut the dead part but I am afraid to have to short hair, I am totally agree with the fact that if I didn’t destroy my hair 💀 I wouldn’t like my curls as much as I love them now

Ahhhh if you feel like your natural hair would be at a good length if you cut it (even if it’s short) then do it!!! It’ll be a shock at first but it’ll probably grow much faster w the dead stuff gone :) excited for you; thanks for watching!

First of all, gurl u look GORGEOUS !! Recently, I accepted the fact that my natural hair isn't straight and I should love the way I look and that patience is the key for this long journey, but today I was depressed by how my hair looked. My hair is mid-back length and unfortunately the roots are short, curly and puffy while the ends are dull, broken and straight. I was satisfied when I heard u talking about the EXACT SAME problems I deal with. Wish me luck cuz my insecurity level is rising day after day, LOL !

Hey the first step is accepting your hair as it is; proud of you for that! I know exactly what you’re talking about with the puffy curly roots and straight ends lol😩 I dealt with it as long as I could until I just couldn’t stand it anymore and cut them off🤣🤣 so glad I did though even though I was a little insecure with the short hair for a little. I still was so happy that I was able to say I was fully natural and no longer holding onto the dead pieces!

I wish I could chop all these dead ends at once but I can't do that cuz I'm about six months away from being a freshman college student and i just want to be a little confident at that time with the same hair length :\@@Zoearaymond

I know the feeling! I was transitioning when I was a freshman in college and chopped everything off during my second semester sophomore year!

It’s such a big decision I don’t blame you 😭 for me though it definitely got to a point where I had to chop the dead stuff off😩

Thank you for this inspiration. Please explain during your transition were you just air drying and putting into a low bun? I see a lot of videos where people still blow dry. I’m confused
@Zoearaymond

I did not use heat on my hair while I was transitioning! I think I maybe straightened it once or twice, but with regular day to day styling, try to avoid heat- it will only slow down your progress. When I did my buns, I still had normal product in my hair and air dried; no blow drying. Hope that makes sense and helps :))

Danggg! I regrew a new head of hair in less than that! I wish I had the patience to transition. It’s easier for me to just cut it.
