I have had a relaxer since I was 12 years old I am now 57. I am approaching 1 year of the transitioning process. I accepted that I had a bad grain of hair because of what I have been told all of my life. Boy they were wrong. The hair growing out of my head is fantastic. Your video had some really good tips to help me to continue through this process. Thank you.

I love this video.Ive stopped relaxing since February 2022,my hair was thin and falling out.So I went natural, washing my hair every eight weeks and cutting every six weeks.I added in a coconut feed for my scalp and a rich cream to condition my hair, I also added a shampoo and conditioner. M y hair is thicker and longer but some are trying to pressure me into waves and braids.I decided to stick with continuing to care for my new natural hair.I also stepped up my diet increasing working out,eating more greener foods and water,water to drank.

Thank you for the feedback!!!, I’ve been transitioning for a year and a month now and I didn’t realize until few weeks ago. I stopped relaxing my hair since last October. I’ve been getting my hair done in knotless braids and when it’s time to wash my hair, I deep condition with hair mayonnaise which helps both with my natural growth and my relaxed ends. I’ve noticed my curls are coming and I’m loving it. Also, I can’t wait where this journey takes me😊.

I almost forgot after using hair mayonnaise, i de tangle my hair. Then I go head wait for 30 min. Before I rinse it out, then I go ahead and detangle again before applying leave in conditioner and oil in my hair before blow drying in low heat. After when my hair is blow dried, I go head and braid my real hair and oil my scalp.

Due to the pandemic, I haven’t gotten the chance to relax my hair and have seen much growth since I started paying more attention to it. I’m conflicted. The edges of my hair when relaxed were completely gone but now have grown back quite nicely. I’m wondering if I should grow it out and relax it again after a few years. But in the meanwhile, I’ll try to follow these tips

Absolutely love your unique videos!!! I'm 4 months into transitioning. I'm learning about my hair and it has been great and which ingredients work. I discovered I'm protein sensitive and that I have at least 2 different types of hair growing in. I've also found a great product ingredient resource that is very helpful. Twist-outs us my go-to style to blend and I hang on to receipts to return products that don't work out or return to Amazon!! Trial & Error is serious and will probably change once all relaxer is gone. Thinking of B.C. in January.... we'll see.

I did a big chop back in Feb, this year. There are still a few relaxed ends and patience really is a virtue. I am still trying to find a routine that works for me, but I am still kinda young, so I am trying to find things within my budget range. I have definitely seen growth these past couple of months. And I guess cutting my hair was an impulsive decision, but I no longer regret it.

I've been relaxed since I was about 8yrs old since my mom didn't know how to manage real natural hair. I realized when I was growing up, my hair wasn't curling and bouncing as it should be and in highschool I really wanted to cut it. I had planned to just big chop bald after graduation but I think my mom is really attached to my hair. There was one time when my mom wanted to braid my hair and told me to blow dry it. From what I'm seeing from my hair, I don't think it was super damaged from the heat since I re wet it and heat protection etc. I'm really wanting to cut all my ends in 2023. So post 6 months transition

I even lost how many times I tried to go through the transition and gave up, always because I can’t deal with the length of my hair. I got many different types of curlers that take too long to texturize my hair, now for last I hope, I got the bandy curlers, and it feels a bit better and faster. I already have short hair, and always had since I started straightening it, never more I could have long hair, I guess because all the damage it suffers. It is a 3 A, very thin hair. Thank you for your video.

Since I’m moving into this next step of transitioning and a lot of the relaxed hair is now gone, do you suggest doing a deep conditioner or a hot oil treatment once a week? This morning while in the shower I washed my hair with the Cantu cleansing shampoo for natural hair, and then I used the Cantu leave-in conditioner while I combed my roots. It sounds to me like you're more than on the right path girl! The only thing I would say is, it's been a month since you left this comment and you likely have more new growth than when you first started, if you don't want your relaxed hair to look so weighed down while the natural grows out, lighten up on the product a little. But, if you don't care, that's fine too, it's all about your preference! :) Hope this helped, wishing you the best in your transition! Thank you for watching and commenting! :)

Everytime I comb my hair, a lot comes out, is that normal for transitioning hair
@CollegeCurls
@CollegeCurls 3 жыл бұрын
Alot of shedding is definitely normal. Without me knowing your hair, I can't definitively day if what you're experiencing is concerning, but as long as you're not doing anything stressing or damaging to your hair, it should be fine :) Hope this helped, thank you so much for watching and commenting! :)

Hey can you someone tell me is it bad that I never deep conditioning my hair only washed
@CollegeCurls
@CollegeCurls 3 жыл бұрын
Yes unfortunately :/ Deep conditioning is SO important for hair health as far as restoring moisture in general, but especially after a wash day. I recommend Shea Moisture JBCO Strengthen & Restore Hair Masque
