I have 2013 Camry XLE .Where is the dip stick located ? I see dip stick for Camry 02.
@JimmyMakingitwork Жыл бұрын
The newer Camrys are filled and the level checked from the drivers side wheel well. Requires an Allen tool and the engine running to check.

Jimmy, you don't need thermometer also. Just let it warm up until it trickles out?
@JimmyMakingitwork10 ай бұрын
I like to use temp when time Permits, but it will be close and work well if the trans case feels very warm to the touch.

Hello I’m doing just a drain and fill on my 2012 Camry.. it’s already at 157k but only 4 quarts are coming out of the pan correct? Then I’ll just put the same amount. I don’t want to do a full flush it might cause an issue.
@JimmyMakingitwork2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, about 4 out then 4 in. I usually do it twice with a short drive in between.
@mark.namoco2 жыл бұрын
@@JimmyMakingitwork hello I just finished my drain and fill. Only 2 in a half quarts came out after taking the small straw out. I guess thats normal right? We put the same amount back in. I guess the other oil are somewhere stuck in other components, as long as I have some fresh oil in there for the first time.
@mgomez560610 ай бұрын
Jimmy, I see others just replace what's in the pan. Is that better than nothing?

Yes, drain and fill works just needs to be done more Often.

Is the a screen or filter to change/clean
@JimmyMakingitwork2 жыл бұрын
They have lifetime screens in them. We usually only open them if the gasket is leaking.

lol I like your comments on services at the end. But remember Mr. Jimmy, you know the properties(additives, detergents, etc. in fluids BREAKDOWN.) That's why it's always good to inform the customer of manufactures recommendation. It's kind of a disservice not to... your video was fun to watch . thanks.

What if you don't have the machine. Can you diy it yourself. I don't have a flat surface to work in.
@JimmyMakingitwork8 ай бұрын
A drain and fill is possible without a machine, using the drain plug at the bottom and fill plug thru the side. Keep track of how much fluid comes out and add the same thru the fill hole using the fluid pump that is needed to do so.
@rafasusername2 жыл бұрын
How do you check the fluid without taking everything apart
@JimmyMakingitwork2 жыл бұрын
When there is no dipstick, the level check plug has to be removed with the engine running. If fluid doesn't trickle out, fluid needs to be added thru the fluid fill plug. There is no other way to check the trans fluid level on cars with this design, which is most modern vehicles now.

I have a 2013 Camry I recently purchased that had a minor front end collision and the transmission acts like it’s low on fluid. What is the most likely cause for loss of fluid. It has 215,000 miles
@sarahrenea49382 жыл бұрын
Mine does the same thing unfortunately, I think it’s due to high mileage 😔
@JimmyMakingitwork2 жыл бұрын
Three things I see leak on them, cooler lines, axles seals or case halves. The first two are relatively easy to fix, the case leak is a rebuild. Have to look underneath with a flash light and maybe clean it up a bit if fluid is in too many areas.
@KARAN_BAJAJ970 Жыл бұрын
is it genuine toyota tranny fluid or an aftermarket one?
@JimmyMakingitwork Жыл бұрын
We usually use a Valvoline equivalent.

lol, sorry Bill. :) I moved down from Long Island NY about 35 years ago. I do miss the fall and spring there, but not the winters. It gets hot here though in the summer, no bragging then. 95 for three months and the only break are the afternoon storms. 😬
