I made a retinoid cream! If you're interested in using it for acne scarring, check it out here: shop.heystratum.com It's now my favorite retinoid product in the world and the one I use each night... but I'm biased here, so do your own research. I used the strongest over the counter retinoid available in the U.S. to get maximum effect, but added a BUNCH of moisturizing and soothing ingredients so that it's not irritating like most retinoids.

As a 30 year old woman, acne scarring has truly changed my quality of life for the worst. I don’t date, I don’t go out much, and I feel very self conscious. It sucks when im in the car and sun is shining and it highlights the scars. I’ve been suffering for over 10 years. It’s hard to deal with. I went to a aesthetician and received a chemical peel, but they gave me the wrong one and that did nothing for my face. Between the depression, self consciousness, and I feel like I can’t live a full life because of the scars on my face.

Initially I did it every month (if not maybe every 2 weeks, I am not sure). This helped especially against the Acne. But the effect is very lasting, so currently every 3-4 months is sufficient for me. This is also due to "condition" having goten better. So now I do for the scarring. I found that the laser worked better than the needling. Although; the needling worked best at a higher intensity with a deeper piercing (deeper piercing will hurt more though). I can't tell you much about the laser. I only know what my doc cals them. There are some that help better against acne, some better against scarring. Laser-vampire-needling is not recommended by me though. All in all i wish my previous doc didnt keep his mout shut and told me about this. It was my best life decision yet. Truly life changing for me. Pls remember the experience may vary.

I have stopped drinking milk and eating chocolates. But antibiotics helped a lot. Learn to manage acne I believe. I’m suffering from this chronic disease from 4 years. I went on spironolactone 50mg, Retin-A, azelaic acid from the dermatologist. This worked great but a few years we went to 100mg and kept the others but included a benzoyl peroxide face wash. Ive done micro dermabrasion, chemical peels, microneedling, fully ablative laser resurfacing (that's under anesthesia, performed by a surgeon with 6 months heal time), subscision, and filler. I still have pretty severe scars. Nothing has worked for me. I do think the medical grade skincare I've been using has made a huge difference in texture. Ultimately, though, you just kind to have to learn to live with it. I've found that people really aren't that superficial in real life, unless they're young or generally shallow.

The felt experience of someone with severe acne scarring is comparable to experiencing mutilation. Mostly because it's facial. Your beauty is taken away, changes in lighting suddenly reveal a grostesque attribute to your facial features to others. Being aware of that makes you want to not be seen. In addition to dealing with that loss, you have to deal with people who lie to you. You knpw how perfectionistic women are about their appearence and yet they pretend your scars are not a big deal. The way we judge ourselves is the way we judge others.

I think it’s also important to note those who are considering Lasering that many clinics use lasers that work well with those on the Fitzpatrick scale of 1-2 (skin type) and can cause scaring to those with more melanin rich skin. Those with more hyperpigmentation prone skin have to opt for a laser known as Nd:YAG which is often more expensive. At least that is my experience. Would be great to see an efficacy comparison between Nd:YAG and Microneedling so can channel the funds for the most effective treatment for those of darker skin tones.

Yep. A fully ablative CO² fractional laser isn't suitable for Fitzpatrick scale 3 and darker. In my country, we use a mildly ablative CO² fractional laser because it's sunny all year and most people are on Fitzpatrick scale 3 and darker. It's not nearly as effective as the fully ablative ones, but it's quite effective for moderate pigmentation and mild scars. People with severe acne scars are usually given 2-4 treatments at once - they usually consist of subsicion, tca cross, prp, and CO² fractinal laser. And while insurance can't cover those treatments, it's fairly cheap to get those combined treatments - around $100-$300 here.

Hey dude, or shall I say Doctor Dude :) , I've had cystic acne scarring for over 20 years, and I agree with you that OTC products are very limited in effectiveness. In fact I found absolutely nothing disagreeable about any of your statements. You're quite helpful. After a year of Accutane about 5 years ago, the chance I'll get another acne cyst is probably around 95 percent reduced. I almost never see them, but am also using Retin A every day and have ever since Accutane cessation. Before that, I took Doxycyline every day for 15 years. Eventually I started hitting a wall getting it because suddenly everyone was saying that you can't take it for more than 3 months, and I couldn't get an Rx for it anymore, which motivated Accutane treatment. I was too scared of the extremely long and horrifying list of Accutane side effects, but I experienced virtually zero side effects from a year of Accutane treatment. Dry mouth and eyes is all I can remember from it. I wish I'd done it much sooner. From your suggestions I think I'll go with laser treatments. Is there any difference between "Fractional CO2 laser" and any other kind of laser treatment?

I really like this video and your honesty. I wouldn't however pick on these so called 'hippies' for giving very worthwhile input on health warnings beyond skincare. People are very easily influenced by an easy fix, especially when recommended by a doctor but there are other doctors who have dedicated their lives to the interactions of the body as a whole and would disagree with the abundant prescription of medication. As a healthcare professional you should always be open to new opinion, and it is worrisome how fast you shoot these people down. For people experiencing highly inflamed skin, diet plays a huge role. Cutting out foods that upset the gut will absolutely help.

Elissa here. I had 12 microneedling sessions with no results as well as pico laser ×3. Just had bellafill injections with subsicion. Hoping this plus Morpheus 8 will make a difference. I'm 40 and if it weren't for these acne scars I've had since I was 19, I'd have beautiful skin.

Is it now better? I‘m thinking of Subcision and filler too.
@tonylowry8338
@tonylowry8338 Жыл бұрын
@@NatalieK944 Honestly I didn't see a huge difference until my injector showed me a side by side before and after pics she took and I could see that my face was more filled out and the scars filled in. I think I will need a couple more treatments. I would definitely try the filler/subcision. Don't bother with microneedling for deep scars unless you try RF microneedling like Morpheus. Traditional microneedling and pico didn't do anything at all unfortunately.

I suffered so much from acne flare up, thanks to those beauty standards that got me insecure so I tried some skin routines to get that "porcelain" or glass skin, started having some acne so I went to the the doc and the some dermatologist (resident) destroyed my skin by giving me benzoyl peroxide twice a day and no moisturiser. My skin was dying at this point. Tried my best to hide my face during internship due to insecurity =) after 1.5 year of depression I found a good dermatologist. Some cetaphil products she suggested and finally, after 3 yrs my skin is clear. Turns out, the previous derma prescription dried up my skin and destroyed it badly. But till date those acne scars.... hurt my soul when I look at myself in the mirror and notice them... Never shared my exp online but this channel is amazing. I've watched some of his videos and by far, the most honest and genuine advisor he is.

Don’t know why I never see this on dermatology channels, but two burdock root extract and acupuncture heal acne. According to TMC, acne is heat. When I had terrible acne, after one treatment, it cleared up in two days. The trick is that you need to find a good acupuncturist who knows how to clear the heat on the proper channels.
