I've been fighting grey leaf spot, and I just can't get ahead of it. I had my lawn tested, and it has grey leaf spot. I used Propiconazole 14.3 and Headway G fungicide. I think maybe I should have started applying earlier though. I have tttf and I'm in the Midwest transition zone. Thank you John

Hi. Very informative thank you. I currently have a fungus that is literally taking over my lawn. I applied DiseaseEx and Bioadvance Fungus Control last week. I plan on applying again because it rains every day here in Florida. The grass is pretty much dead in those areas and it's spreading so fast. My question to you is what do I do after I apply to help the grass grow back? Can I apply an iron and minerals supplement now or should I wait until after my second application of the fungicide? Also, because the grass grows so fast, I feel I have to mow however, I think it spreads the fungus faster because it's everywhere. Should I still mow? Any advice is appreciated!

Applying the disease control was the right thing to do. As long as you applied a fungicide you can mow. Best thing to help it recover is micro nutrients and potassium. Once the fungus is completely gone then you can use a 16 0 10 to help it bounce back. I hope this helps. Thank you for the comment and support 👍

In the summer you should be at 2 to 3 times depending on rain. 30 minutes minimum.

Should I use soil conditioner in my St. Augustine grass before, during, or after fungicide treatment?

What are referring to as a soil conditioner?
@thegorthan90723 жыл бұрын
@@bettercallchadd either baby shampoo or “simple lawn solutions soil aerator and conditioner.” I wanted to use some surfactant.
@bettercallchadd3 жыл бұрын
@@thegorthan9072 that should be fine. As long as it is not Nitergeon to feed the fungus you should be ok. If the fungus is extreme throughout the lawn you may want to wait a little to let it recover a bit first.

Chadd, I have a couple of questions. I think I get all kinds of fungus on my St. Augustine, including Take All Root Rot, Grey Leaf Spot and Brown Patch. Can the same fungicide treat all/any kind of fungus problem? I see below that you recommend Pillar G. Does that treat any/all kinds of fungus? And which do you prefer, a liquid fungicide or granular? My lawn care company is using a spray fungicide. Also, what do you think about using peat moss for TARR? That's what we're being told to use in Texas, but are the fungicides just as good? I don't want to be spreading peat moss all across my lawn every year. Also, I've looked at several fungicides and they all recommend applying twice in the Spring and twice in the Fall (when temperatures start to get cooler at night). Is that what you recommend? My lawn care company says they only apply the fungicides ONCE in the Spring and Fall, not twice....even though the instructions specifically say to apply twice. They say you only need to apply twice if the first application didn't work.
@bettercallchadd3 жыл бұрын
Always check the labels but pillar G will work for all fungus in St.augustine grass. Two applications is needed of it is active. No point of apply if bot fungus is active. The fungicide will be better then peat moss. Root rot can be treated with a fungicide alone. You need to get dryer soil conditions to prevent the roots from rotting. If your company is not following up after treating that could by why you are having trouble. With a lawn that seems to get as much fungus as your does two applications will be needed when active. I hope this helps. Thanks for the comment and support 👍

Should i mow my grass and then apply a fungicide or put fungicide first? Whats the best fungicide for st Augustine?

Apply fungicide, water in, wait two days, then mow. I recommend pillar G. It works and is easy to apply!!! Keep it handy this fungus is everywhere with all this rain. Thank you for the comment and support 👍

Can I use seaweed if my lawn has a fungus? Heard it was good for fungus. Great video 👍
@bettercallchadd4 жыл бұрын
Seaweed will not spread the fungus more but it won't necessarily treat it either. It would be a good way to feed the lawn without feeding the fungus to help it recover.

This is exactly what I'm dealing with. I'm in South Texas and the last 5 weeks we've had an unusually wet period. Tons of rain! I did a combo treatment of granular Disease-ex and spray Fungicide about 2 weeks ago but it seems to be getting worse. Of course it rained a bunch in that 2 weeks. Going into a dry period now according to forecast. Should I do another round of treatment or leave it alone? Love your videos and thank you!

As long as it has been two weeks you can re apply. If those are not working use a product called pillar G. Works great. Hopefully it dries up and that will help a lot. Thanks for the comment and support 👍
