My city only allows 2 days a week watering. My zoysia is brown and crunchy in the sun areas. Under the Juniper tree, it's greenish. Also doesn't help that it was just sodded last fall and both neighbors have yards that just consist of weeds.

New subscriber here! Your videos are so informative, thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!!! My new St. Augustine sod is 1 month old here in the Tampa FL area. Do I need to do anything other than watering and mowing for the first year? I don't want to stress the new sod out with strong fertilizers, weed, pest, and fungus products. I was thinking just milorganite and pulling weeds by hand the first year. But how many months out would YOU wait to start following a regular program like in your video with the St. Augustine calendar?

Aside from heat stress from my neighbors window reflecting the sunlight in a rectangular patch on my zoysia,I just discovered that there is gravel and rock about 2 inches below my zoysia where it’s been turning yellow for the past two years I’m guessing because of the heat that heats up the rock takes away. The moisture in the grass area is about 6‘ x 6‘ area. What’s the best way of trying to get the gravel dug out from under it without destroying my yard?
@bettercallchadd
@bettercallchadd 8 күн бұрын
It's not really a way to get it out without tearing up the lawn. You can slowly add soil on top and let it settle and hope it buries the rocks more.

Why do they have such a good reputation? Bonus S seems to have done it the best, everyone’s dad says to use that then the competition copied the purple label. Not doubting you’re knowledge but it seems to have some sort of success for them to Jack up their prices so much. I’m on an acre and probably the cheapest person I know but I love watching lawn care for the past 8 years. I but something here and there but hardly fertilize or spray herbicide. I started Prodiamine this year and have enough to last a while but I can’t be even buying milorganite for this size of a yard as consistent as it needs. I’m trying DEF fluid😂🤦‍♂️ I cut tall and sharpen blades and cut a lot. What do you recommend for someone who really cares but won’t be spending hundreds or sending in soil tests?
@bettercallchadd
@bettercallchadd 11 күн бұрын
It's because bonus S has so much nitrogen that it will force your lawn to be green and grow. That will create thatch over years and kill your lawn. Bonus s makes your lawn look good, but it is just like human abusing steroids. Bad downside in the long wrong. But most people don't know that the bonus s caused it. Also, the most emergent weed control in it sucks. It's pretty much pointless. The way for you use to spend time twice a year is to do a granuler like a 24 2 11 or 16 4 8 in the spring and fall. You can just sue iron in the summer, which is cheap. But you do need to spend the money for gdauler if not twice a year atkeast once in the spring.
