what is the injector nozzle and pressurized container setup used for the orange oil?

Are you spraying that Boracare with an airless Sprayer? I am going to do my attic next week and I don't want to mess around with a dinky pump sprayer.

Jack Black? LOL, Ya know the subtitles say you're going to treat them with Orange oil and bore them. Great video! I may call you when I'm ready.

I live in a rental house that has drywood termites and I'm trying to figure out how to protect some of my things from getting infested. Specifically, I have a bunch of expensive acoustic sound panels in my studio. The backside of the panels are bare wood. After watching you video I was thinking I should apply orange oil with a brush to the wood first and let it soak in and then apply boracare once the orange oil dries. Is this the proper way to do it?
@avoavo78783 жыл бұрын
You need to contact your landlord and make sure they know. We had an issue with this in an apartment and the landlord didn’t want to do anything about it. We had some furniture eaten as a result. When you do move out, make sure you do a thorough inspection of all your wood furniture. Look for any holes where they could enter. I had to just toss some of my stuff.
@The123utube3 жыл бұрын
Just apply the Boracare like applying paint to the exposed wood. It will not work if it's painted or stained.
@fobloveralways2262 жыл бұрын
This is the crappy part about living in a termite infested home, they’ll get into your furniture and you have to be careful about bringing them with you. We plan to get our furniture bombed when we move out. Our local pest control offers this.

I have put cedar oil from Cadarcide on my antiques that have original finish. Yep, they have the original finish! I called them, and they say it's ok. And it is!

Wouldn't it be better to hit the galleries with termidor foam so that you KNOW that the whole colony dies? I would be afraid that the orange oil didn't get every member of the colony but with termidor foam I would know that as long as I got it in there the whole colony will be exposed through contact and die... Also how would you do this to wall studs? Could you just use a termatrac to find movement and then where you find the movement drill into the stud?

Dude man you guys got them good. They are done. Haha anyway what did you guys mix the orange oil with? Boracare looks promising too. Good work. Gonna try some diy termite control.

We found some minor terminate damage on one rafter outside under lower roof eave Do we need to tent the house?
@Swish36 Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, you're going to have to burn down the house. Just make sure that nobody is inside.
@fretbuzzly Жыл бұрын
No, tenting is a last ditch effort. No reason to tent. You can treat the local area/wood. The big downside to tenting is it has no residual effect, meaning the day after they remove the tent you could get infested again. You need to do something like done in this video, obviously specific to your particular situation. It's not rocket science. Look at the guys that do this for a living.

What is the orange oil, and bora care? where can I get it. Is it a registered poison. I'm in Australia?

What kind of sprayer is that for the boracare please?
@The123utube3 жыл бұрын
Use a 8002e fan spray tip or use a jet stream to reach hard to reach places. Also read the label 😂 has al the info you need to complete what ever it is you are trying to do. By the way don't spill any of it in the lawn it will kill all the grass. Use safety goggles and respirator in unventilated areas. Don't use orange oil. Boracare it self penetrates wood on it's own. Just do 2 coatings with a 20min wait time per coat. Takes roughly 2 to 3 months for Boracare do its job. Last for about 12 years

Why are not all houses built with pressure treated wood to avoid this problem? Are there pest control companies lobbying against this? I don't get it....I would GLADLY pay $10,000 more for a house to NEVER have to worry about termites....
@RamBo-we9ii2 жыл бұрын
Wood only last 40-50 years usually. Chemicals it's treated with are somewhat harmful to humans in an enclosed setting. But, most of all, cost is way higher than regular framing wood.
@chrismatteson233711 ай бұрын
The termites will eventually eat pressure treated wood eventually also especially in Florida. You want to petrified your wood with cedar oil or boracare. He's using L-limatine here to kill them in this video.

Wow. so there is no way to know the condition of any hidden studs. This is so scary. I don't know why Bora-Care treatment is not in the Code when constructing houses. All this frustration could have been avoided.

Do you need to replace the wood before or after treatment? Is it pointless to do treatment without fixing damaged wood or siding? Thanks!
@Alpacabowl984 жыл бұрын
he says the orange stuff strengthens the wood
@johnkidwell90603 жыл бұрын
Yes. However, you only repair based on the amount of damage structurally. Some areas can be repaired with other means for cosmetic reasons.
@fretbuzzly Жыл бұрын
You could just sister a new stud/joist/rafter. No need to rip out what is there unless it's easy to do. But before you put in new wood make sure the colony is dead and treat the new wood. You don't want to give them a fresh meal.
@lym3204 Жыл бұрын
I don't see the point of injecting with Orange oil if you sprayed all the wood with Bora-Care.
