Gosh, those blooms!! Beautiful. It resembles a David Austin rose I have seen before. Thanks for the tip on the powdery mildew, very helpful as always.

Your KZbin thing is really, really, good. Can’t wait for new uploads. And I don’t even do permaculture or any food plants at all.

It looks like mine which is a Louis odier. Mine has powdery mildew as well! Which, funny enough, is what brought me to your Chanel.

Nice, helpful channel. I have to say though, as a gardener, I'd be super annoyed if I saw someone taking cuttings from my yard without permission. It's inconvenient but just ask.

I don’t go into people’s yards without permission to take cuttings! Please don’t think I’d go into someone’s garden without them knowing! I knock on doors and or leave notes with my cell phone number if they aren’t home asking if I can come back and take a cutting or two (example of this is in my Shade-loving comfrey video) or I take them from parks and businesses. I absolutely respect folks’ personal space. Things growing over fences or on public property, you legally don’t need to ask permission My favorite lilac was a sucker in a bank parking lot :)

One of the main reason Louis Odier gets powdery mildew is because it’s native to France which has different soil requirements and climate than the US or California. If you took it from a clipping it would mean it has a native root stalk now and the original may have been grafted. Maybe consider grafting a Dr. Huey or even a native rose roots stalk and see if it does any better. With mine I have noticed that the mildew in the stem. This means it’s coming from the soil. While, treating the problem on the leaves will help the soil might be the root, no pun intended lol, cause of your issue.
