x*3=3x (3x+y)*2=6x+2y (6x+2y)/6=x+y/3 x+y/3-x=y/3 so you can take x which you want and y(45 here) must be divided by 3. for example if you add 300 so it will give you 100 at the end.

It's just math....not a trick. No matter what number you choose... you're gonna subtract it anyway leaving the numbers he gave you and the math applied to them giving you a solution he already knew. you can do this with any numbers, provided you know the solution to the math applied to them

Yeah, but the vast majority of people won't be able to tell what your doing, I remember doing a trick like this to my friends awhile back, and no one could figure out how, then I told them. Its just math yes, but most people don't realize that when you tell them to subtract the number they started with, that they'll get a predetermined answer, sorry for ranting on about this lol, just saying that it can be used as a trick because most people won't understand how it works.

think that the starting number is n after multiplying by 3 , 3n I think add m to the answer , so answer = 3n + m now I have to multiply the answer by 2 , so answer = 2(3n + m) now divide the answer by 6, answer = 2(3n + m)/6 answer = (3n + m)/3 answer = n + m/3 so the answer is n + m/3 finally I have to subtract n (that is the number I thought before) from the answer answer = n + m/3 - n so the final answer = m/3 there is no n in final answer, so the final result is not depend on n (the number you think) and It's only depend on m (the number have to add in the middle) in every time the final result is 15 because of adding 45 ... (45/3 = 15) if you add 60 the answer is 20 so you can change the answer by change the adding number (m) in the middle ... :)

Haritha Gayashan you made a mistake. Its not n+m/3 -n, its (n+m)/3-n. You cant just subtract n. You have to set it eqal to 0 and isolate avariable then solve.

I predicted the answer before you finished. It's an old and easy trick. I used it when I was like 10? You simply multiply by 2 and 3 and then divide by 2*3=6. You could do the same with multiplying by 4 and 5, dividing by 20 and adding 100 and the result would be 25 (100/4). For example my number is 1, x4 = 4, + 100 = 104 * 5 = 520, /20 = 26, -1 = 25 Basically you can change the numbers how you want and make it a nice trick when you are in a elementary school, because that's the time when you should be able to figure it out and show off with it ;)

Anyone with some basic math skills and a little common sense could figure this one out... Subtracting your number at the end cancels it out. Multiplying by 2 and then by 3 and dividing by 6 cancels out. So basically all thats left is the 45*2 which equals 90. Divide that by 6 and, big surprise, you get 15.

This doesn't work on a scientific calculator because of the order of of operations (it's called something different in every country). If you do have a scientific calculator, hit the = button after every operation before continuing with the trick. :)

I've heard this one. Here lemme explain. Okay so let's say you start with 2. I tell you to add 9 (11) Multiply by 6 (66) and now divide by 6 (11). Subtract the original number and you will get... 9! Now all I have to say is that your number is 9 since your number simply does not matter as you eventually cancel it out at then end.

I already know this trick, so basically you know that adding part that's the magic, he said 45 and 45÷3 is 15 so if you do a different number such as add 60 the answer will end up being 20 so basically whatever you add ÷3 is the answer

Here's another version of it: 1. Pick a number, any number 2. Double it 3. Add 6 4. Divide this new number by 2 5. Subtract original number from the number you now have 6A. Concentrate now on the new number 6B. Reading your mind, your number is 3
