How to trim a budgie's beak

To those who are new to this, there are blood vessels you must be careful of, so put on a flashlight to see where the light isn’t see through or has blood in it. Make sure to make a comfortable position for your bird as much as you can before and through out the trimming too. This happens to older budgies mostly.

The GLOVES are waaay overkill. Unstable holding of bird and damage to feathers. Unsafe nail clipper getting too close to blood vessel. This person needs training in holding a budgie correctly ! I’m so sad for the distressed bird 😭

Birds can bleed out if you use this method with the nail clipper. This non verbal video is not safe.

@7bir I know you are trying to do your best. I have spoken with an avian vet when I got my birds. They told me that if the beak grows like this the bird has a liver problem. Please take the bird to a vet and get medication. Also don't only seeds because that is the cause, feed a balanced diet of vegetables (carrots, broccoli), fruits, pellets and seeds.
