Both part 1 & 2 very informative, thank you. Interested in tiger lily & lotus, trimming suggestions. Thanks

Glad you enjoyed. Both of those can be trimmed by cutting off shoots close to the main bulb if trimming for appearance. If trimming to propogate you can replant those offshoots and they will develop roots...you can also remove the whole plant from the bulb and replant both the plant AND the bupb to grow a new plant.

Hi Kevin, need ur thoughts on a bottom layer of CaribSea Eco-Complete Plant Substrate (Red) then add a layer of pea pebble gravel. I'm creating a 10 gallon divided betta tank w/ easy grown plants? Abt to buy the substrate need ur thoughts. Thanks for all the help G-ma in Indiana

If using Eco complete then you dont need to cap with gravel unless you just like the look. But be aware that plants can find it difficult to spread in pea gravel at times. EcoComplete has no real nutrient value itself but will hold on to nutrients you dose in the water column well. You may find that root tab fertilzers will help as well. Depending on how the cost balances out in your area, I might suggest Fluval Stratum instead. Where I am they cost the same but I know that changes quite a bit in other locations.

Can you do mosses and floating plants too?
@n.o.a.h.-northernontarioaq79914 жыл бұрын
Floating plants typically dont need trimming unless they are a stem variety..and in that case you follow the same instructions for planted stems. Mosses you just trim for appearance really and to thin out growth that may be keeping light from penetrating. I will do a moss tutorial though..thanks for the idea.
