Your gardens are beautiful Jenny, but then you are a pro. I love my hellobores, right now they are buried under 7" of snow. Don't to much trust the new zone rating by the USDA. They moved us from a 6b to a 7, and right now we have negative temps. We are in a arctic blast for a week now. While the snow cover does help, these temps will kill most zone 7 plants. The butterflies are so cute.

With age(just turned 65), I look for ANY way to make gardening more comfortable. A good little helper when sitting on the ground clipping such as monkey grass or hellebores, is to have the lid of my lined trash can, next to me to put clippings into, instead of having to raise all the way to the top of the can to drop them in. When the lid is full, I can stand up and empty it into the lined trash can. It really does save my shoulders.
