I have a Sony 49 Inch TV. First repair project, I have been working on it on and off for a few months now. I am at the same stage. Will check for shorts on those screen boards and wait for part II of this video. Thank you for your work.

this is a very interesting video . and you are a good detective also . this video has many lessons in . on how to start diagnosis the bad components .and how to start step by step . So if the COF is really bad so need to remove it and if the cost of bonding machine cost a lot and if the client will pay for such work .or the client prefer to put it in carbage . Well that was a very interesting video . keep it up thanks for your time for this wonderful video . great lesson happy new year .❤️

Around the 27-minute mark, you tested a capacitor measuring about 100 ohms. Why didn't you suspect that capacitor or another capacitor in parallel? Do you use a short-killer tool? Those diodes appear to be protection diodes, with one end grounded and the other connected to the rail they're protecting. I think you should use a short killer across the cap if you have one. Be careful with the polarity of the voltage you put across the cap because you can have negative and positive voltages on that board. All the best

I find this so interesting how you diagnose electric problems. These tv's they make today are made to fail. They want you to buy new ones every few years.

Yes, it could be T-con, or main board or even the panel.

Robert, do you ever check the community pages on your online platform. Been trying to troubleshoot a Pioneer Plasma. Nice to see you back on KZbin.

Hi Big Dogg, I have a one year old TCL 75S451 75" LED TV that has no picture. It gets power, it's backlights come on, I hear a sound as it comes on but I have no picture. I have replaced the t-con board but have the same problem. I ordered a power supply board to try that, but I am not confident that will solve the problem either. I should mention that the remote with new batteries will not turn on or off the TV either. I did shine a flash light on the screen as well but didn't see anything, it just has backlights. The TV only has the 2 boards inside other than the wifi module and the 2 long, skinny video boards at the bottom of the screen. What are your thoughts for the next move or part you think I should replace next? Any feedback is greatly appreciated and by the way, your videos are awesome! Keep up the good work. Thank you and hope to hear from you soon. Jerry

unplug the panel driver boards one at a time, just like I did in the Video. You may have a bad LCD screen. Just use the process of elimination.

@bigdog8882 ok I unplugged the left side first, and then the right side picture worked. Then I unplugged the right side, and then it went back to a full black screen with only backlights on. Now I'm getting somewhere, but now what is the next step, and is it fixable?
@bigdog888214 күн бұрын
@@JERRYSCHULTZ-l8d On the left side (the connector that you had unplugged when you got a half a picture); check that left driver board on the bottom for shorted capacitors, burns, etc.

@bigdog8882 I guess I should clarify. When I'm looking at the back of the TV, I have the left board plugged in and the right board unplugged. Then I stand it up on it's legs and the right side of the TV screen shows a picture. Then, again, looking at the back of the TV, I unplugged the left board and plugged in the right side board, and I'm back to a black screen with backlights on. So I should be looking at the right side board for problems, correct? I also noticed that the standby light blinks 8 times and then goes off when doing both scenarios. Does that blink code mean something ? Also, the TV powers on just by plugging it in, not even using the power button.

Looks like you have a solder bridge between R107 and Ri08 or maybe a piece of solder.

Can you share the link to the tweezer meter. Great video as always. I have a 55" Westinghouse with the same problem. 2 years old to. I've fixed 4 TV'S so far out of 10. Great hobby for me I've had a stroke 7 years ago that disabled my left side. So those tweezer meter would be ideal for me. Thanks for sharing.
@bigdog8882 Thank you for the link but I've purchased tweezers that work with my meters

I have a 55" TCL that has backlight problems. I replaced the strip and got the screen back. Unfortunately, one of the ribbon cables that connects to the led screen came off, so I only got 3/4 of the screen, the other 1/4 is dark. My question to you is there a way to reconnect this type of ribbon cable since it looked like it's tacked on or glued on, for a lack of proper term. I appreciate your advice.
