That was a good tutorial bro. Very clear to the skill set and understanding of the balance of the rim.

If your wheel is being pulled left, tightening the right is correct. But you want to slightly loosen the left spokes (2-3 of them) then tighten the right 2-3 slightly. Truing is an art of fine tuning. Don’t crank anything if you don’t loosen the left before tightening the right you’re just going to tighten the right more than move it

Great information, man I kicked a curb, and bam, gave me serious bend. I think I better get another rim. Wow ! Thanks for the great video.

if there all equally loose but the rim is true. do i just tighten them all with the same amount of turns? and when do i know when to stop?
@kingsrideshop4 жыл бұрын
Outdated Tastes yeah you want to keep the tension as equal as possible. And to know when to stop, I would say compare the tension to another wheel. Usually the spokes will clock against each other when you squeeze them as opposed to just sliding against each other quietly

Get a park tool 3 in 1. That’s what I have and I can use it on different bikes obviously.

I have re-aligned the rear wheel and it will ride fine for a short period, say 10 mins, and then the wheel rubs the chain stay every rotation, ive tried this around 3 times. I have ordered a spoke key and hopefully this will fix the problem. Does it sound likely it’s the spokes ?or could it be the bearings or possibly a damaged rim ?
@kingsrideshop4 жыл бұрын
more than likely the wheel is shifting in the dropout go the frame. Try putting the wheel on to where it does not rub, then tight the wheel to the frame as hard as possible.
@realSTYLISHx4 жыл бұрын
@@kingsrideshop Okay, I'll give that a go, I haven't been "over" tightening the wheel, for the reason I think I'll need to re-align it at some point soon.

I did mine with channel locks but thanks for the info would have helped if you let thrm know thier reversed threaded tho
@Yz85rider3384 жыл бұрын
They're not reverse threaded, pull the rim tape back and look at them from the head.

Why don’t you just loosen the one side of the spoke cuz you know one day they keep fucking up and you dk how much re is and it hits the lem it on day and just pops of I mean idk if that possible but ehhh cuz I’m scared to break on of the spokes and then I need to fix that one and idk wear to get one but Ik that I could just ask the local bike shop to do it for me or if a part of my bike broke they could order me the part and fix it up just saying maby if you could loosen one side if the other is kinda fucked up 😂

And if I don't have a spoke wrench? lol you literally just said as I was typing this "and if you don't have a spoke wrench..." Haha so, if I don't have money? other way to safely do it with other tool?
@kingsrideshop7 жыл бұрын
tiffgarcia well that's going to make it difficult. Haha. You can try with a flat head screw driver if you take your tire off but it'll be really hard to make the spokes tight enough. Better asks some friends who has one you can borrow
