You might be able to adapt E46 manifolds to N54/N55 turbos. Gotta chop off the cats and then it looks a lot like the N manifolds.

Is this something one could follow with M52B25? Specifically 98 523i. I have a very nice piece where the suspension, brakes and some other stuff are already done and I'm playing with the idea to turbo it. The engine has been recently stripped down to change head gasket. That lead to scraping the block as well. So now the engine is in pretty much mint condition. Cleaned and rebuilt to it's former glory. Is this a platform one could work with?

Yeah this series should work for you! Main difference is going to be the engine displacement but everything else should be the same.

The 325 engine will outlast the328 engine when worked hard due to lower piston speed in the 325 at the same rpm. Lower stresses on your pistons.

325 is still vanos and iron block, no? What makes an m50 a poor candidate for this? @don

325 is just smaller displacement. 328 gives you just that little bit more low end
