You can do it by yourself pretty easy by using rear&front pit stands and a quite common motorcycle/atv-lift under the engine with a flat surface by removing the oil pan, oil pickup, regulator and front wheel, then a piece of plywood to protect gasket surface. Then lowering and steer the engine out of the frame. (Hayabusa)

"Hard" is relative. What is "not too hard" to one person (who may have a lot of experience building and rebuilding engines) may be insanity to someone who barely knows how to change oil.

It's really not hard there are countless guides on how to build engines and all the info (torque specs etc) you need on the particular engine you are building. All it takes is a little reading, being good with your hands and having common sense.

I have watched this "how to" so many times. Great job, guys. I'm just getting to work soon. I just need to embrace two things: 1. hayabusa. 2. turbo kit. 2020: not this year, guys! but we don't give up :) ( yes - I watched this video again ) 2021: I work hard all the time, don't lose faith guys! 2022: +1 view. unfortunately, this year will probably also fail. But keep your fingers crossed! I am still working :) 2023: +1 view. My companies are growing, still working hard :) You have to be patient while waiting for information about my Hayabusa Turbo. I greet you all! 2024: +1 view. Not this year guys. But don't worry, the goal will be achieved. A Hayabusa turbo in the garage is still my biggest dream :)

@@knight20092001 if you can change gaskets, change the oil, change clutch packs. Plugs it really isn't hard at all. The difference between taking the heads off and this sort of thing isn't huge especially when using a kit. It is all the same basic. Concepts, righty tighty lefty loosy, needs air, fire and bang juice to go boom. Its a really quite basic thing. Maybe it's hard if you can't change oil without taking it to the dealer. Now TUNING ONE can be a bastard but if you are using a kit then.... There will be a basic tune in the setup and an EFI bike thats 2 cables and a USB cable to the ECU piggyback.

You haven't had a bike like this or a 600hp car, I presume? At first, for about 1-1 ½ years it is amazing, but after a while you just get tired, because too a larger extent you've learned how to handle everything, so you want to go faster. Especially for a bike like a Hayabusa, which isn't a bike for a circuit, horsepower seems to be the only way to make it more exciting and since the engine can handle it, the owners just want _mo powa' baby_

More space doesn't exactly mean more power. Raising the cylinders gives you less compression ratio, which means less detonation under boost. That's why turbo pistons don't have as much casting over the crown. It's also why boosted engines should use higher octane fuel.

the "spacer" is mounted to lower the compression rate , when you turbo an engine you need to lower the compression because the turbo is changing the entire power curve / engine characteristics . N/A engines produce the maximum power at almost peak level rpm . turbo boosts the power in the lower rpm up until mid range rpm .
@jediknight1294
@jediknight1294 5 жыл бұрын
It isnt anything to do with your idea of how power delivery works, something you should probably do some more reading on in any case. the reason you lower compression is because the forced induction increases pressure inside the cylinder by increasing the amount of air inside it. This means that you are risking knock and detonation running more than a 2-3psi of boost. To counter this you reduce the engines compression either with a spacer changing the strokexbore ratio, or changing the pistons or both also changing the octane of fuel can help but thats very temp and altitude dependant. This allows you to keep the cylinder pressure within the safe limits to avoid detonation/knock as you raise the amount of boost you want to use.

Answer for everyone, who questions the translation of the torque wrench / moment wrench. In Finland we call the torque wrench as ”momentti avain” which translates straight to english as ”moment key” When that’s wrong, we translate it english as ”moment wrench” And for example, car has 300NM torque, as you say in english. We say: car has 300NM torque moment, translated from finnish term ”vääntömomentti”. So Torque in finnish = Vääntömomentti and Vääntömomentti in english = Torque Moment. Simple, right? 😉✌🏼

Thecourtney family that my friend is a standard yamaha 1.8 jetski engine from where did you conclude that its a busa engine because the title says so?you cant even install something like that cause first of all jetski is using a direct shaft how did he get rid of the transmission?anyway motorcycle engine on a jetski not doable at least for now yet.

If you expand the combustion chamber as you did without some kind of supercharging it will actually result in a loss of power. You’ll have a much lower compression ratio because you aren’t also lengthening the stroke of the piston to accommodate for the new airspace in the chamber.

When you increase the deck height like that what your doing is decreasing the compression, Those spacers is one way of doing it the other is replacing pistons or replacing rods with something that has a shorter stroke. This is to fight pinging or detention that is cause from adding the turbo.

@WickedTRX

how did you compensate the cam advance because of the spacer? That spacer means less power, not more, it makes the engine more boost friendly by lowering the compression ratio, it would suffer from detonation with very little boost
@WickedTRX
@WickedTRX 6 жыл бұрын
Your're increasing the distance between the crankshaft and the camshafts. when you increase the distance the cams are rotated forward, the opposite happens when you skim a head the camshafts are retarded, that's why you see the slotted camshaft sprockets and pulleys.
@H-M-78
@H-M-78 Жыл бұрын
On Busas from about 04 you normally need adjustable cam sprockets to compensate. Earlier Busas ( like mine) you compensate by turning chain gear on the crank. (Compensates the cams back to about 105/105 on gen1) Gen 2 has different

Pistons will be fine . Rods are the weak spot. Gen 2 valve gear is also shite. I learned the hard way. 300 horse should be about 8 psi .
