Great video Mike. I made a set of flowers in a vase last year for my wife. Since it was mainly cutoffs used the cost was next to nothing and compared to a dozen roses.....my wife love the turned flowers 100 times more than the real flowers and saved me a bunch of $$$ to boot.

Great gift to give. Very nice Mike...! Mike I use the one gallon paint stir sticks with the spray adhesive for my two different grits double sided sanding boards. I have several sanding boards with different grits. Thanks so much for putting up this video show. Much appreciated. . .

Good tip using paint sticks for folks that don't have a BS or TS. Thanks, Jack.

I think I'll try this idea. It seems that light colored wood works best if you plan on dyeing the petals. I'll experiment using food color to dye the different parts. Thanks for the useful tip on sanding, it can be used in many other projects as well. Like!

Wow, I looked up transtint dyes and they have really gone up in price since I bought a bottle of red, yellow and blue a few years ago. You can get some premixed dyes from CSUSA or Peachtree WW for a lot less if you are not planning on using large amounts. Food dye is likely to fade very quickly from UV exposure.

I found that using my 1" belt sander does a great job of cleaning up the bandsaw cuts.

Wells that is creative. Let us know in six months how the color held up. This may be a great tip - or not depending on the color longevity.

You don't turn the inside? I've done flowers two ways before - inside out turning & turning at 90 degrees - but have never tried this one. Have to give it a shot! =)
