How to turn off boot light without closing the boot for IONIQ?

You failed to mention that if you go to close the trunk without putting it back in it’s original position, it will feel like you just hit a slab of granite with a mini sledge hammer.

This does work .... but I didn't watch to the end at first. I just went and switched it off!! A few hours later I went into a panic when I did watch the ending and saw the string thing, and my car didn't have that. The "button" people mentioned in the comments below, I just had to push the button inside my car - to open the boot/trunk (under the steering wheel) twice and it was fine. Not the remote. Otherwise that string part is apparently located under the left back seat (Suzuki) according to my car manual (page 4 and 5 of 304 page car manual that came with the car!!!). I know nothing about cars, and this was quite easy. Thank you!!!!

Thanks!. Someone rear ended me slightly and while everything is still function, the trunk does not know it is closed sometimes. I was worried the battery would drain. This helps things!

Most cars have an emergency release in the trunk. In case a person is stuck in there.

I'm using a hire car , I can't modify it like you have (I wouldn't know how to do it anyway).. I need rear door open all day/night for camping with my rear car tent , I am meant to leave day after tomorrow... I can't go camping in the car if I can't turn the rear hatch back door light off as it will flatten the car battery.. Di NSW Australia🙋‍♀️

If CKD model, you don’t need to pull the rope to open the lock, just press the ‘close’ button on the boot, it’ll open automatically..

I think he’s doing it back ass Just use a plastic pin that’s a writing utensil do the same method with the screwdriver and leave the pan in until you’re ready to close the trunk lid In other words, you don’t need a string, neither it should just shut
