How To Turn Off The Warning Buzzer On A Chevrolet Truck

Here is how to turn off the warning buzzer on a Chevrolet truck. If you are tired of hearing the warning buzzer buzz or beep when the door is open or when the lights are on, it is really easy to unplug. To turn off the warning buzzer on a Chevy truck, you just need to go down by the brake pedal and unplug the speaker box, and that will silence the warning buzzer forever. It is easy to do, and everything else in your truck that still work after you unplug the speaker to the warning buzzer.

That is so funny. I have been bothered by that buzzer for 26 years, and looked several times for the buzzer to eliminate it. Today the buzzer would not shut off, and I saw a post showing how to fix the problem, but finding your post it was sweet to see how to eliminate it altogether. Yep sitting in a 95 tahoe and this video just saved my sanity because it turns out when you take the door panel off and unplug the window lock and mirror controls this alarm goes off constantly if the keys are in the ignition.

I have 2005 Gmc yukon denali xl. The beep comes though the speaker in the driver's door only. Easy to remove the door panel cut the wires to the speaker and rebalance the speaker output. No more beeps

In my 02 same body style, the chime is in the BCM box under the steering column. Take the box apart & put tape over the speaker. 03+ just put a aftermarket radio in.

2012 Chevy Express 3500 Driver's side door speaker is the Chime alarm. disconnect speaker. I will rig back driver's side speaker to simulate stereo again.

MY vehicle is a 2005 Suburban, which uses a tone generated in the radio and played thru the onboard speakers. So no physical beeper as your 1995 vehicle has. OK, so call me crazy, but I'm installing an aftermarket radio which does not retain beeper capability, and I would actually like to have it. Wiring harnesses are available to restore beep, but geesh, they cost $100. Was wondering if there is some way to install a physical beeper from an older vehicle and get it to activate from a signal from the radio.

TIL this also controls the seatbelt light in the dash. If you remove it you will have no light on dash for seatbelt. Just a tidbit I wish I'd known before taking my cluster out tracing bulbs LOL

I think sticking some duct tape over the speaker vent is a good option as well. Then you get some noise, but it’s not nearly as loud.

I agree the buzzer is annoying. But if you have a oem keyless entry for your chevy, it will stop working it as well. I did this on my 97 Silverado and my key fob stopped working after I removed the buzzer.

No. Some of them are designed that way. It’s really annoying. Usually it only happens if the key is in the ignition. So if you’re going to have the door open for a while, you can take the key out.
