Great idea! Saved me lots of important stuff from my broken phone. I have an improvement to the procedure though. Instead of trying out the first 7 or 12 tabs (or whatever) you can simply press shift+tab once and then single enter, then 2 tabs and then enter. The shift-tab once will shift to the start button right away! The reason for the different number of tabs you need to go if you go "forward" is that the advertisement in the app also is selectable and the ad differs depending on your profile.

It works. I didn't even used the Advanced IP scanner, i checked my phone's IP on my router page (192.168.1.1), but i think that it depends on the model of the router. Also when you tap enter 7 times and then 2 times, sometimes you need to do it several times before it will actually work. Overall great tutorial as always from Indian dude

Finally this method worked for me!!! But... not exactly this method - some adaptations needed. Screen stream over HTTP was actually the key (it's not listed on your video description btw). I'm using OnePlus 6T and from what I've checked, OTG function is off by default on these phones. Once you turn it on, "this function will be automatically turned off after 10 minutes' inactivity". So using keyboard, mouse or even HDMI to TV is not an option. Google Assistant was the other key. But once again, not directly. I don't know why, but on this phone I need to press home button for a while to "call" google assistant app and only after that I can talk - a good way to know if the assistant is ready is saying "HEY google", if you get an answer - great, just reply "OK google" to start giving orders like "open screen stream". But first of all you need to unlock the screen, put the PIN, press home button enough seconds... and do all this "blinded" it's not an easy task! It took me for a while to start speaking to the phone (I've another phone, OnePlus 5T, where I can call "ok google" directly without pressing home button - in both cases you need to unlock the screen first). The second hard task was pressing "play" button on Screen Stream App to start the stream and after that confirm it on the dialog box - because every time you press outside the box it disappear. So you need 2 "head shots" to start the stream. It is much easier when you can have another phone side by side and see the position of the buttons. By testing the stream app on my OP5T I've found that on the browser side there is another "play" button where every time you press it, a confirm dialog box appear on your phone. This way you don't need to have an "head shot" on play button and another to confirm. Just keep pressing the play btn on the browser and tries to confirm on the phone. After 30 seconds, the miracle happened! I started seeing my phone! After hours and days trying different methods. From this point, everything became as easy as pie. First thing was activate OTG then connect the mouse. After that I went to "settings -> about phone" to unlock developer options menu by pressing 7 times at the "Build number". Here started another problem. At the last click to enable Developer Options menu, the screen turns black only with navigation and notifications bars. After research, I've found in some cases you need to put your phone PIN to finish this action. Once the screen was black (not turned off), I didn't know what to do. But every time it happened a key board symbol appeared on the navigation bar, so I pressed on it and put the PIN - et voilà - Developer Options menu enabled!! Last thing to do was enable "USB debugging" mode and change the "Default USB configuration" to "file transfer" instead of "No data transfer" - this way just connect your phone to PC through USB, unlock screen, and you have access to all your files - you also explain it on your video. If you don't want to loose the access to your phone, installing Vysor APP is also important as you don't need to repeat the first part of the process again. I hope this explanation can help another people in the same situation as mine. Thank you again, Khushang, for the different video methods and to Kunal Gujarathi for introducing Screen Stream App! PS: Every phone has different ways to do the same thing, different behaviours, and there is no tutorial to follow step by step, so you should adapt the methods to your phone.

Open the screen stream app using google assistant. Then you need to press start in the screen stream app. So for that you will need a keyboard. Connect the keyboard to the phone and press tab key 12 times then press enter then again press tab key 2 times then press enter again.

oh my god finallyy it worked by some altering in the method when i was starting the screen share the keyboard method didnt work so i used my mouse and assumed the position and advanced ip scanner was unable to locate the ip of my phone so i used hotspot manager on the phone with hotspot and it worked!!!!!! im so happy i used a redmi note 7 pro :)

You're a life saver. Same issues here where other solutions needed the USB Debugger to be on which I couldn't do.The ads that show up on Screen Stream kept messing up the number count for me. Since I could still screenshot and access Google Photos from my laptop, I pulled up the screen and screenshot it as I pressed tab until I had it over the Play button in the app. Very, very, very tedious but a guarantee success. I guess this method could be used as well if you have a mouse and keyboard attached to the phone and want to turn on the USB debugger. Thanks so much for your video! Amazing, this video, with your video on "How to access your broken phone from pc ,Recover files from a broken Phone" helped me recover data from my completely shattered phone. Screen was so damaged that it was in pieces and completely blacked out. For screen stream app to work, you may have to do few more clicks of tab. Resourceful, out-of-the-box way to get to the debug mode options. And I learned a few things that I had no idea about (i.e. Android keyboard shortcuts). After starting Screen Stream I had to press tab 12 times, then enter once, then tab once then enter once to get it to work. It's also a good idea to pause for 5 or 10 seconds after starting Screen Stream to make sure the app is fully open before pressing all the tabs and enters. I was lucky enough to have a working phone that was similar to the broken phone so I could test the process on a phone with a working screen to see exactly what was happening before trying it on the broken screen. I spent days trying to find a way to turn on debugging, and this was the only one that worked for me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

First of all, thank you very much for putting this here, this saved over a year's worth of memories from my recently broken phone Second, I absolutely never comment, but I just wanted to share this for any Pixel (5a in particular) users: Pixel phones in general from my brief research do not support USB-C to HDMI, a particular app and expensive hub is needed to show the phone screen on a monitor. Through straight up device failure, my screen went black and was non-responsive although I could still feel it vibrate and the alarm would still go off..... I took it to a google certified repair shop, they stated it was motherboard failure and told me to contact google. I thought all my memories (photos and vids) were gone. At the time of this comment: Google does have an extended warranty for fixing this (for the 5a 5g in particular, I do not know of other models) the device needs to be noted as motherboard failure by a certified shop and the issues needs to be Display problem and power issue (something similar to that) for a mail in fix (I'd recommend talking to customer support for assistance). I'm still in the process of sending in for repair or replacement. Between these instructions, a basic USB-C hub, talking to the phone and enabling google talkback accessibility (so it could read what's on the screen and tell me shortcuts for activating selections including the full IP address once the app was opened), and a list of keyboard shortcuts link (type in keyboard shortcuts for android in google search), got me to being able to backup all my pics so I can get them off the phone. Thank you greatly! This is a truly creative way to access when it's not easy

Hi Khushang, thank you so much for dedicating your time to helping people like me. I have a Samsung Note 8 with a smashed glass and LCD. After i put in my IP address in the browser, the cast connected then i received a dialog box that i should select "start" on the device. I'm unable to see but i tried the tab button and even tried to estimate the start button with the mouse....but nothing. I've done it so many times and now it's asking me for a 4 digit password. Hello, thanks to you, I managed to enable file transfer mode! For those struggling to get Screen Stream to start, what I did was Tab (selects the streaming link), Shift + Tab (selects start) and Enter, then shift tab to select confirm and then Enter again. might not work for you, but it was what worked for me and may be worth a shot, However, I have trouble with Voice Access - after activating voice access, no numbers appear, and none of the commands work, I can only use hey google and do the usual stuff with google assistant. Anyone knows how to solve this? I cant enable usb debugging through voice to use Vysor without getting around this

Use a bluetooth mouse to accept the usb debugging dialogue to allow it to make a connection. Man you saved my moto g7 power. Wasnt easy but your method worked. A bluetooth mouse will be a life saver. Loved this video.

There is an ads to interupt 7 tabs at first, the solution is using Shift + Tab 2 times to start the apps, and normal 2 Tabs to confirm.

What's your point? he explained that his "broken phone" was completely broken and it wouldn't actually work on it, so he was going to use it on his other one, but it was an example... He just hid the screen for effect... He clearly did it without using the screen, so your "gotcha" is completely useless. Clearly this method helped plenty of people.

Charge your phone enough that it can boot up. Connect to your wifi or mobile data using google assistant. then find your ip address using advanced ip scanner

@@migueldesousa8848 thank you for taking your time to share your method, but I'm sorry pressing the play button from my browser shows no confirmation box in the browser part, I need to manually go to the app to see that box (testing in another healthy phone) Also, your method is exclusive for broken phones being responsive to touches right? because google assistant won't press for me the stream button, and my screen is completely blank. no vision, no response. I think I need to find an original otg to work with my phone, otherwise I would love a special command to let google assistant press that stream button..

okay okay got an original otg and keyboard works, but the pattern for pressing tab isn't the same here. perhaps my phone model has a different way of finding the "play" button blindly. I wish there was like a working A70 around me to study the pattern...

My screen sharing works only on the device I screen from. I tested this way on my second phone and I can see shared screen only when I type ip in its browser. I cannot access screen sharing from for example my laptop. Anybody help? I also checked on second phone and it only works on mobile data, idk why. I know that I edited router security settings but idk what can me the cause of that situation.

The computer and phone both should be connected to same network. And if you see only blank dark page the press the power button of the phone that might happen if your phone's display is off

Thanks man this worked perfectly. You're great. In my case, the tab part was a little messy, so I did the whole thing with a working phone and then repeated the procedure with the broken one. Also, if your broken phone still recognizes touch, you can try to press the "Start" button on Screen Stream app, then just do the 2 tab + enter step, that's what I did based on what I learned with the working phone.

When I tell my google to "turn on the WiFi", it responds with , "for that you'll have to insert a sim card or turn on the wifi.", Then when I inserted the sim card an did it again it tells me to turn on the mobile data(which is impossible due to screen damage!!) It seems like Google assistant doesn't work without a network connection.. Now, how am I suppose to turn on WiFi , when google itself requires internet connection to accept that request???

No it might be because your screen might be off try to turn on using power button or connect the keyboard and press windows key. If screen stream app is successfully started then it will show you the device.

i have black screen cause dropped my phone.. so your mothod with screen stream was not bad. i turned on phone, entered pin, enabled wifi, installed screen stream, made that 7 tab enter, 2 tab enter thing, entered ip, but connection was not succesfull. it was trying all the time and nothing....
