It's actually a lot simpler then that cause all you really need is something to boil the sea water in and something to catch the condensation but I get what he's doing he doing it in a last resort scenario as in finding things that are around you to make drinking water and really if you use the same method as he did with the water from the tree you'd have the same out come I've been doing things like this since I was in boy scouts i even taught my scout leader a few tricks they didn't teach us before I became a egal scout like how to make a few logs burn all night long there are lots of ways of doing that like a lot of stuff you see on KZbin I've been doing for years long before any you tube was around

Could you use rocks and sand as a filter? It works with fresh water. Make a tube with fine sand at the bottom with increasingly larger rocks as you go up the tube. You are going to need the right bottle because glass becomes brittle when a particular temperature is reached. Most glass bottles will crack at boiling temperature.
@Ivanych_Milovadze
@Ivanych_Milovadze 7 ай бұрын

This video is neglecting key points of information. 1) Drinking fully distilled water can kill you as it leeches electrolytes from you. This method may still retain some of the salts. To be safe, you can add a bit of the remaining salt from the sea water to the distilled water to ensure this doesn't happen. 2) The receiving bottle should be kept as cold as you can keep it. Sit it in wet sand and cover with a wet cloth where possible to speed up the condensation.

"Note" (if you're drinking distilled water, it will not hydrate you because it does not have the necessary minerals you're body needs to survive) While distilled water is safe to drink, it is not recommended as the sole source of hydration for extended periods of time. Distilled water lacks essential minerals that our bodies need for proper functioning. Drinking only distilled water can lead to mineral deficiencies and electrolyte imbalances, which can have negative effects on your health. It is important to have a balanced diet and consume water that contains the necessary minerals for optimal hydration and well-being.

This is legitimately the safest water to drink. Filtering water won't kill bacteria neither will boiling it. However the condensation is always clean

Also if you take the metal lid from one of those bottles and cut the closed end of the lid off you can use it as a coupling between the 2 bottles and screw them into the same lid from both sides.

Just be sure to have a little sea water with it. Hydration is more than H20, it’s also minerals too. It’s said that drinking distilled water may actually leach minerals from the body, the very things needed for hydration. Just ask Gatorade, or those other sport recovery brands!

Remember to add atleast a small amount of salt water from the other bottle/sea. Our drinking water contains a small amount of salt and other minerals which are essential for us. It will also make it taste better.

Not the most effective method (and there really isn't unless you have a lab at your disposal to separate the salt from water), but this can literally mean a difference between life and death, should you ever be stranded in an island and you have no more fresh water left.
