You are an inspiration. . . as I watched your content, and checked out your process for making a book(s). . . I decided, if she can do it, I can do it. I am an artist, and love anatomy. . .but I thought there are soooo many anatomy books what makes you think that you can add anything. But I'm also a sculptor, and thought, all these books/videos go too fast, with too much information all at once,. I am now in the process of developing videos and eventually a workbook (at your suggestion for book making), to learning step by step. .. ex foot parts analyzed like a cube, one video one worksheet on (1)front, (2) back (3)side (midline), (4) side (lateral), (5) top, (6) bottom. . . my negative voice still says it is a waste of time. . . but I am determined to persist, in part because of your example of persistence.

Hi Mandy, I am literally binge-watching your video since discovering your channel a feed ago 😄 Call me a dreamer and ambitious but I envision myself becoming a best selling author but for me to do that, I have mountains and mountains of doubts and personal struggles to overcome and I believe I am on the right path. Thank you for your guidance 🤍🌻

this is the first video of yours i’ve seen - popped up on my feed! and i’m glad it did! you are a delight to listen to! i’m very much a jack of all trades kind of crafter, so i love thinking up different sewing projects, woodworking, artwork, etc. - but ive never really singled out one idea to fully flesh out in a way that could be sold to other people. this has really got me thinking!!

You're such an inspiration, Mandy! I'm obsessed with your content and so grateful for such a massive backlog of your Substack posts I'm dilligently reading through. And can't wait for the book and the Make your Art journal. I'm brimming with ideas - fiction books, substack newsletter, companion content like a journal etc. There are many things holding me back. I identified the impactful though - I struggle with speaking from a position of authority. Like, who am I to even give advice or coach? Yeah, I have lots of personal experience, and I think I'm an insightful and thoughtful person. But I don't have years of experience in coaching others like I do. I have a professional qualification but only a few years of experience in this particular field. I can speak about personal development because I've been through some major changes and growth but then, who hasn't? Other than being a Gemini, and middle-aged (haha) what else qualifies me to teach or guide others??? How do you overcome this lack of confidence and the idea that you have to have some sort of official achievement before you can speak to the masses? 😁

thank you for your patience as i got to this reply! i am soooo grateful to you for watching and following along this little world i am building haha. your experience matters! your voice matters! i think also, don't underestimate how people kind of just want a friend. it's not even about being the authority, it's about just showing up and being yourself, being funny, being irreverent. i personally overcame it by being like, no one is watching and no one cares. and then slowly, very slowly, the audience built up. but i never proclaimed to be an expert. i was just like, oh i have all these weird ideas, come along and do them with me. so it was always about companionship, not authority. i also think people LOVE to watch other people trying. so even if you started a channel and were like, hey guys i am brimming with ideas, let's try some together, i mean first of all even if no one watched, it would be good for YOUR art which is all that matters!!! i think in general if you are a good hearted person, which you are, then people on the internet will be kind to you!

I recently got into making charm necklaces (the viral ones with like 6 charms On a necklace ) and also I got the ingredients to make body butter but haven’t made it yet. My issue is that I have too many ideas and don’t know which to sell 😂 I don’t know if I should try the jewellery or the cosmetics

just pick one, and finish it all the way. so make a "collection" of 4 different necklaces, give them a name, and then you can move on. then same with the body butter. just complete it (mix it, put it in the jar, put labels on it). and then, honestly, just PLAY. maybe make body butter with charms inside. literally there are no rules! play with them until you figure out which one you are more drawn to. rinse and repeat!
