I'm a certificated aircraft mechanic with 20 years of sheet metal experience and can tell you that industry wide standard spacing is 4d min to 6d max just in case you were wondering. This can also vary by what is called for in the manufacturer structure repair manual.

Nice video. Would be fun to see more of these kind of build videos. What kind of Dremmel/Rotary bit was he using for rivets? Is it custom/home made? Also is this work area in his house? He has quite the shop and storage space!

phil must have balls of steel to do all that work then take them out for a maiden flight. i know he fly's himself so pursume he maiden's them himself too
@tbobborap18 жыл бұрын
hi sean, phil ocasionaly test flies them (he is a qualified caa instructor) but more likely than not they go abroad (to their owners) before they get flown or in this country most of the owners take delivery of them and test fly themselves (all got balls of steel - lol)
@6027sean8 жыл бұрын
i fly both fixed wing and heli's and as most rc flyers do my own maiden flight's, but to maiden these jets after all the time effort and money put into them must be something else

I want to do this, but I see more RCs crash than real aircraft on KZbin. I couldn't take going through all that work and then have it crash.
