First time I'm watching this video and I realized I couldn't understand much without the Spanish Subtitles. This helps me understand that I do know how to comprehend Spanish loud and clearly, only if I'm reading and this was a good revelation. Thanks for this video.

vine a ver este video porque me dio curiosidad saber como aprenden español los no nativos y wow... no era consciente de que hablábamos tan rápido, tanto así que el audio del video me resultó demasiado lento (se que habló así para que la entendieran pero igual me sorprendió). ¡Muchos ánimos a todos los que estén aprendiendo! here i am doing my best with english as well 💕

Something that helped me a lot was switching my phone language to Spanish and playing this video in 1.5x speed.

Some people do speak much faster than others but It see to me that Spanish speakers have the ability to speak for long periods of time without taking a breath or pause. Then I lose my place and can’t keep up for a while and pick up later but in the meantime I have lost part of what was said. Sometimes I can still understand fairly fast speech. The different accents do sometimes also make a difference.

Gracias por tu video. Yo lo he pasado entre mis alumnos de español que siempre se quejan de la velocidad.....Como maestra tengo mucha dificultad de enseñar las conjugaciones compuestas del subjuntivo y como usarlas: haya explicado, explicara, hubiera explicado, etc... No consigo explicar las diferencias en el sentido ni practicándolo.Si pudieras hacer un vídeo con este tema te lo agradecería enormemente ❤❤❤

I’m working through B1 CEFR level material and at this point I can understand everything in teaching videos without subtitles. However, when I watch Netflix shows or other hispanohablantes speaking naturally, it’s still fast for me and their word usage is more complex. If you’re having trouble following this video, give yourself more time to develop and try podcasts so that you are forced to hear what is said, rather than try to read and keep up with the verbal pace. Trying to read subtitles at the pace of spoken Spanish is really defeating.

quizas - "this isn't the book that I am reading!" o "It isn't from this book that I am reading" depende en el contexto, y no se el contexto. A menos esta es mi opinion como un nivel intermedio de espanol

Hey Ashley! It's a cut clip so with no context is hard to understand.. She says, "No, del libro que me estoy leyendo" - Would be like "No, from the book I'm reading" saying to the other person she was referring to something in the book she's currently reading :) Thank you very much for watching and commenting, and I'm sorry I took so long to respond to your comment! ♥

@@englishwithashley No, del libro este que me estoy leyendo. It seem like someone else asked her where she had got something that she said from. The question could might be something like: Is it an idea from your own? and the answer was the one she says on the clip. En español serìa: Esa ide a es tuya? y la respuesta fue: No, del libro este que me estoy leyendo. I'm a native spanish speaker.

I don't think that Spainish speakers necessarily speak faster than English speakers, they just don't draw breath in between sentences. It seems that every sentence merges into the next one with no pauses whatsoever. I think that's the real reason I struggle with listening, whereas I can read Spanish very well.
