HP setup cartridges are system locked and only designed to work on Brand NEW printers.
In this video I will show you how to bypass this, and unlock the genuine setup cartridges.

This printer is a ok printer, but i don't like the way HP stop you from putting alternative print cartridges in it, i hardly used it just for printing letters never did any photos on it, the other day i turned it on, i used it the week before with no issues, i was using after market print cartridges and it said it was updating via wifi, next moment the display read printer failure = print head issue or ink, i could do nothing with the printer after that, lucky for me i did have a cover via the shop i purchased it from, i took it back and got the new epson et-2650 with ink wells on its side, u can put any ink in this printer and i am well happy with it, and for £6 for a full set of ink , its cheap to, fuck HP i will never buy from you again, and you want people to pay upwards of £50 for print cartridges, not me

Excellent, thanks for the help. This worked fine. I installed a new printhead and used the old cartridges to initialise it - the instruction that came with the new head were not so specific that you MUST use the set-up cartridges.

Fantastique! I finally got my HP printer running. I managed to use German ink technology! And not setups supplied. The set-ups were supplied years ago. And when I updated to Windows 8.1 with NEW driver software...the LCD locked and nothing printed at all. Apparently the Region was set as UK and the language German. Why? Perhaps it recognised the German ink technology better than originals. My supplier offered to give me new inks or a refund without question. I took a rest and came back and found your video. HP said set-up cartridges are only direct from HP. Not available by retailers. And I could only find originals not set-ups. HP said to return the printer if missing from the box. But I gave in but did not give up. The screen did not unlock and was blocked from within the LCD cloaking as embedded by some mirrored screen shot. SO would not advance from the screen to print. Thank you for telling me were to tap so many times despite not seeing it. It was in a muddle. It cleared when the region and the language matched up. I needed to print forms off a website to trace a family member. Thank you. Now I can do just that. It has put my mind at rest. Keep up the good work. I will subscribe before Christmas.

Thank You!! Old print head failed, replaced with an expensive one from HP. Kept getting the error message do not use setup cartridges. New XL cartridges worked, but incorrectly, couldn't align, etc. With your help, all is well now! Printer aligned correctly and very expensive new XL cartidges work great. No help from HP comminitiy. You've saved me hundreds of dollars. Thanks again!!
