@@SpencerWalshthemoviereviewer”love themselves and their instincts” 😮 love it, I need to work on that. I’m too self critical and it’s affecting my standup. Confidence changes everything in standup. one thing I learned is to treat the unknown people like your friends you talk to daily. I always found it easy to make my friends laugh, because they reflect my personality and I'm comfortable with them. So, if you're talking to somebody you don't know that well, just ask yourself; "what would I say to ____ ?"

IF YOU LACK DISCIPLINE, READ THIS: 1. If you want to live a happy and successful life, you can't rely on motivation. Motivation will fail you. Discipline will keep you going. 2. Excuses will make today easy but the future harder. Discipline is harder today but makes the future easier. Choose your hard. 3. Choose your goals and write them down. You must have a clear vision of where you're going or you'll get lost. 4. Focus on the habit, not the outcome. Say "I'll exercise 4 times a week" instead of saying "I'll lose 0,5 kilograms a week" 5. Prioritize quality sleep. 7-8 hours of sleep every night is crucial. Get to bed early and wake up early. Getting up early will make you more disciplined. 6. You need to say "no" more often. Taking on too many tasks will make you feel overwhelmed. Your time and energy are limited. Every time you say yes to someone else, you say no to yourself. Prioritize wisely. 7. Just start. Most dreams are killed before they even get going. Imperfect action is much better than no action. You'll never feel ready. Break down your goal into smaller steps, set deadlines, and stop over-complicating. 8. Forgive yourself. We all make mistakes. Don't let mistakes stop you. It's never a failure as long as you learn the lesson and keep going.

I do the "expand the joke" thing all the time and people HATE it. I dunno if I'm "too good" at acting like I've missed the point or what, but I'm constantly met with "it's a joke" and I then have to explain "I *know* it's a joke, I thought it would be funnier if I ran with it". I really don't know what I'm doing wrong, or if I'm just hanging out with the wrong people (because it is usually the same handful of people who react that way). I find taking throw away jokes seriously and responding to them absolutely hilarious, but apparently people don't realize that's what I'm doing and think I somehow missed the sarcasm or whatever.

Hey, as an experienced GM and a big fan of Brannan (though youtube shorts) I love that you made a video about him. I'll definitely check out your video on D&D, although I dislike the fact that the most famous game system is not the most approachable. I would strongly suggest trying the FATE Core game system as it focuses on a story instead of pure fighting (like D&D mostly does)

What are lessons from the book "Don’t Believe Everything You Think”? 7 Lessons from the book “Don’t Believe Everything You Think”: 1) The root cause of our suffering is our own thinking. 2) Stop thinking and end your problems. 3) Do not let the behaviour of others destroy your inner peace. 4) Our feelings do not come from external events, but from our own thinking about the events. 5) If you want to find the truth, look for simplicity. 6) There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so. 7) To a mind without the limits of thinking, anything is possible. Wouldn't hurt to try these methods

One of my favorite ways to practice is at the grocery store. While I'm shopping I'll pick one item and develop a joke about it to use at the cashier. Let's say a bag of pistachios. As I finish emptying my cart on the belt I'll look puzzlingly at the bag and look like I'm being indecisive, and then I'll randomly shout "ah hell, let's go nuts!" As I toss the bag of pistachios on the belt. It's gotten the point where I'll see someone putting serious thought into fruit selection and comment "you've got to make sure you're bringing home a good one!"

1) purposefully misinterpret the other person's question or comment (expand on it); answer non literally (switch from answering sincerely to non literally) 2) create improv scenes - when someone cracks a joke expands on it by pretending that the premise is true; add a character with an unique voice; add specificity (use uncommon words that make sense in that scenario) 3) lower my filter - allow myself to speak whats on my mind even though I don't think its interesting with clarity and power; SET THE INTENTION TO SAY ONE MORE SENTENCE IN EVERY CONVERSATION THAN I WOULD USUALLY DO

I’m the biggest lover of Improv, especially comedy improv (I mean my YT channel is literally a bunch of crappy little jokes compiled into video format 😂); my friends always ask me how I have the confidence to perform entire shows ON THE SPOT, and I don’t even have an answer, I just absolutely adore it! ~for me, a big part of it is enjoying making fun of myself to entertain the crowd; when you stop caring so much about what other people are gonna think of you, you might just find that the real you which emerges can be a lot funnier than you anticipated! But again, easier said than done. I’m far from having perfected my craft, but it’s a bloody brilliant skill to have. 😎
