Dad had a snake stuck to tented glue mouse trap. I was able to remove part of the cardboard but the glue was around its tail and its tail was stuck to body. I'm so happy I found your video and couldn't believe how fast it worked. I have cleaned the vegetable oil from him the best I could but he is super aggressive. I plan on getting some pinkies tomorrow and will watch to make sure respiratory and skin are fine for next couple of days then release him. Thanks again.

At the top of his 36x18x18 tank too, but he reached it anyway. Hey Ethan, This little trick works great!!! I have a black snake that appears to be an Eastern King Snake, living in my house. I found him/her in the laundry room area, at the beginning of Fall; this year. It was getting cold here, in North Eastern Georgia; so I let him stay inside for the Winter. I hadn't seen him since the first time in the Fall, so I assumed he left; because I have 3 German Shepards that live in the house as well. I started getting mice in the house, for the first time this Winter. I put some sticky mouse traps out last night, not thinking about the snake. This evening, I checked the traps and there he was, stuck on a sticky trap with a dead mouse; as well. I looked up different types of things that would dissolve the stickiness, but they were harmful to snakes; then I found your video. I followed your directions exactly as you showed in the video, and the snake was free in just a couple of minutes. Luckily, his head wasn't stuck. He didn't try to bite me at all, and actually started moving his body; which helped me get him loose quicker. I wiped off the oil with a bath towel, then poured lukewarm water on him and cleaned him with a bath towel. He was very happy to be free, and very friendly. I pet him for a minute, then put him on the floor, by the unfinished wall, where I first found him; and when I found him in the sticky trap. I figured that was probably his home area because that's where I've seen him both times. I set him down and he slithered back in between the insulation and a stack of drywall that sits in my walk-in closet. The house is about 85% finished, so I live in it while I work on finishing the interior of the house; I don't mind him being here. He's healthy and very lively, he's about 2-1/2 feet long; and looked like he had a mouse in his stomach. Thanks for your awesome trick of getting snakes unstuck.

I'm not sure if you'll see this message but I'm curious as to if you saved the bleu tailed lizard? We have some around our house (the outside), along with 6 different kinds of snakes that we have seen this summer. I think they're pretty but are they not good to have around? I came across your video because we just found a snake (a baby Kingsnake (according to my phone)) stuck on some scorpion tape we have in our storage room on the door line to keep bugs out of the main part of our basement living area since there is a 1" gap on the bottom of the door. The oil worked very quickly....I just poured a little bit around him and in about two minutes, he wiggled free. He was very aggressive however and kept lunging at me, the Q-tip, the bucket.... I don't know if that is normal or if he could sense how petrified I was of him even though he was pretty small. I tried to pick him up but couldn't and at least he crawled into the bucket on his own. I wanted to wash him off but he wouldn't stay in the bucket, he was aggressive and I was too afraid so I just put him in some dirt outside and hopefully the oil will work itself off and he will be ok. Thank you for the info.

i was so stupid that i had used tape to stick some fake plants on the glass, my cornsnake sadly gott under the tape somehow, and i freaked out so i used a bit of water but didnt really work, my mom came and she ripped it off slowly, im really nervous because that was not the right thing to do, his skin is kinda crusty ish its not as smooth as the other areas, luckily it wasnt its whole body. But if theres any lotion or oil i can use for my snake so its skin can become normal again or just something to help him i would be so happy. i got my snake yesterday, it was a few hours since we got it off, we took every thing that was taped out so dont worry. He has stayed in his little hole the whole time since. Hes probably so stressed, so am i. what do i do? Any type of advice would be life saving.
