Update for anyone who had the same issue as me which was that service history menu deleted from service requirements after flashing. The problem is with your laptop, you need to reinstall 'java' on your computer and then reinstall the program. Thank you Mick for sharing this, really helpful 👍

Yeah that doesn't work either but thanks for giving me hope, reinstalling Java does not rectify this problem. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS ON ANY BMW REG AFTER 2017 IT WILL ALMOST CERTAINLY WIPE YOUR SERVICE HISTORY AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RECOVER UNLESS YOU PAY BMW.

You can Enable/Disabled the digital service history when coding with the bimmer code app look an see if it's still Enabled if not turn it on and code it.. Then try re-flashing the Service History..

And the problem is that they change the oil once per 15k miles (24,140 KM) whatbis insane. normally, for a good engine work it should be at 10,000km (6,200 miles). And i had a sad experience with my toyota avensis that I tried to service all the time only at official dealers, and they pour oil less than half at the price of ~400£ (400£ = 40L of engine oil)

@@ic4765 Depends on the oil used. Use a good synthetic oil like Mobil 1 and you are good for the service intervals but if you use mineral oil - then definitely shorter oil changes are a must. I would do 15k kms to 20k kms per change pending on the type of driving you do (lots of millage open road driving or banging about town - short trips),

My current dealer history allows me to drill down into a service to see all the parts replaced/work done. Can you re-programme this same level of detail with the lite version? I'm a bit nervous of wiping my long dealer history then not being able to put it back exactly the same way.

Yea indi garages have to pay BMW to access there servers to update the service history or work they have carried out, which means that anyone who has used this software to update there history and the car gets taken into a garage and they update the idrive only the Information from the server will be written and all the logs that was created or edited will be lost or reverted back to the original.

No worries at all, it doesn't matter at all its just nice yo have if you had it done, it wouldn't show as bmw unless you typed it in like in the vid i typed in home as i done it myself, in terms of the current service history because this is the free version you'll need to type it all out

@@mohamedragab515 only way to fix it is to go to an independent specialist who can put the service data back onto the car using Ista. Legitimate Service entries are stored at BMW so aren't lost but to put it back on your idrive you need someone with a registered Ista unfortunately. I learned this the hard way also

I did'nt understand one thing: How can I save the original service history before adding my own data? At the end I would like to have the complete history beginning with the original dealer services and additionally my own entries. Is that possible? Some people here are complaining about the loss of the original data.

hey, you have to write out the previous ones yourself then add on the one you've had then flash it and all the service logs will be there

I’ve got a 2014 f30 320d xdrive. My service history was deleted somehow when I had the wheels refurbed. Would this work or would bimmercode do it with the Bluetooth dongle thing?? Cheers

Just managed to update my service history following the instructions here - very easy to do. However, I still have warning messages in the car about an overdue service and vehicle check (the ones I've just added to the history). Any idea how I can get rid of those?

Glad it worked mate, for the vehicle check click on to it on the idrive and change the date that will then takr the errors away

Hi Mick, bought the cable and got the software. Tried it once and it didn’t work. Downloaded Java and wiped the software off my laptop, then downloaded it again. Tan everything again and it’s still not working. Any suggestions ? The OBD is lighting up and it scans ok as it picks up my chassis.

Hi mate, great content thanks a lot! When adding a service I did on my own I found out, that when a service was done late by BMW they entered how many km the service was done to late. When I pick the option "late" in the program you show I do not see where I can put in this information. When you create an entry with your program and pick "late" the milage is left empty. Do you know how to fix that issue?

Hey man does this method work with 320i (2015) with the smaller screen. I can see that your screen is a bit bigger and I remember reading somewhere to not try any such thing on a smaller screen BMW. Can you put some light on it.

Reconnect to the car and load up the saved file you created then flash it to the car and it should go on to the headunit
