That sounds like you have the wrong bios version, check you have the right motherboard model and version and revision number.

The correct proceeding is flash>save and exit>enter bios>load optimized defaults>save and exit>enter bios>do your thing with custom settings>save and exit. Also, on some motherboards, we have to use a specific usb slot for bios flash. Is that the case with newer Gigabyte motherboards too?

I would use F2 unless you need the feature F3C. C is still a beta bios.

Did the PC not boot straight after the new BIOS? If so the PC will use the backup BIOS to boot after a few failed attempts.

I don't think Iam not buying any gigabyte motherboard, anytime soon, I upgraded the bios to install a ryzen 5 2600 bios version F1, perhaps I need to way for the ryzen 5 2600 to arrived, I will install it to see if the computer show some display, I have to make sure if the ram are sitted properly and the 24 pin atx connector and the cpu connector

I needed to update without booting and (noob that I am) wasn't clear whether the .63 file or the entire uncompressed file was the "bios" Also good to know the 'a' designates a beta version. I don't need more variables getting this to boot.

Does updating the BIOS reset any settings or changes you made in the BIOS previously? For example I enabled a Precision Boost Undervolt on my GPU that I saved in the BIOS.

Hello and thanks for your video :) I have a question with your method , if i have for exemple the F12 version of the bios and the last verions is F17d. can i just need to download this version or i need to instal one by one the F13 , the F14 , the F15 .... ? ( i see an other video they said we need to instal one by one directly with the BIOS app on Gigabyte app center )Your method look very good and better. So thats why i ask. You can normally just jump to the latest version unless the bios notes state that you have to flash version X first.

If you have no issues with your pc I wouldn't preform a bios update for no reason. You should only bios update if you get a new cpu that isn't supported by your current bios or it fixes a specific issue. One last reason to perform a bios update is to fix a security vulnerability.

If you have the bios version that you want to rollback to or can download it from Gigabytes, yes this method works to downgrade the bios.

When I have the file on my root C dir it says 'can't read file'. When I put it on a FAT32 stick I can't see it regardless of which usb socket I use. I have Z790 Aorus gaming x ax.

I can not get to the BIOS menu. Motherboard says there is something wrong with the CPU. I've been made aware that my CPU (New Ryzen 5 5600X) isn't compatible with the motherboard until it has a higher BIOS, how do I get to the menu without my CPU, seeing as it won't work until the BIOS is updated?

I don't know that a letter means beta - my AX370 only has letter releases for the last 3.5 years (it is pretty old). F51 only has letter releases, F51e, F51h and F51i.

Just double check you have the correct bios for the motherboard and revision also that the file has been extracted from the zip file.

It could it be booting with the backup bios, if you are confident with the new bios being compatible with your CPU then tick the update backup bios box.

No the B450 Aorus pro WiFi doesn't have Q-flash plus so you cannot update the bios without a CPU. You can contact AMD and they can loan you a boot kit, which is a really cheap cpu so you can update the bios and send it back to them when you have finished. www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-100

The ones ending with a letter are beta bios, sometimes they have issues but not always but the ones without a letter are normally more stable.

The B550 should support Ryzen 5000 out of the box and because you can see the motherboard logo the system is posting so I don't think the bios is the problem.
