How to update RCM Loader for the Nintendo Switch

If you already have a modded switch just plug it in once you rcm that is ALL you need to do it will update itself by searching your sd card for the update file there is no need for a pc or to update drivers

@@RetroBoyy I now I have four rcmloaders and they all automatically booted hekate, the newest ones I received I didn’t even try to update, you need to just put the update.bin file in your sd card

@nincompoopknight yeah they do launch hekate. But it’s nice to update the rcm loader first in case there is a old hekate version installed.

@@RetroBoyy the update.bin file will overwrite the older version is what I’m saying it will automatically iverwrite and update to the bin file you’re using currently in your sd card

I just got one of these and I’m trying to figure out how to run it. I understand the button but when I plug it in it’s just a red light nothing blinking been sitting here for an hour trying I updated all my drivers I’m so confused

If you have the same situation as me, I figured out the problem these versions are cheap knock off and they don’t have any memory on them so you’re basically plugging it in and out for no reason just make sure the payload is updated on your switches, SD card, and it will work. No need to plugged the device into the computer.

I have one of those rcm loaders and jig tool but I don’t use it cos I have the oled switch now and I’m guessing the oled switch doesn’t work with the rcm loader 😅

You dont need perfect timing. You have about a second to get it right. Just follow what i do exactly

@@David-cy2lj wdym with all updates? its an rcm loader, it inserts a payload and thats it. If you regularly update atmosphere and hekate you wont have any issues

Lol switch modding is so fucking dumb like lets perfect this shit before we hype it up most of the rcm loaders are fake that are listed anywhere. It is 9/14/24 5:22 PM and I just received two loaders in the mail two hours ago. have been trying this for over an hour now just using hope to keep going. This sucks, and it wasted my time and money. Beginner switch modders, don't waste your money, mod your switch with the intent to never use it outside unfortunately because for now, these methods are not even close to a 50/50 guarantee of it working. Also, I bought TWO RCMLoaders so I've been trying both.

well if the goal is to get free games then you might be right. its pretty hard to install games on a modded switch. you need a lot of knowledge about pcs and the firmware that you install on the switch

@@RetroBoyy no actually this vid is lowkey wrong if they already modded the switch the loader will find the update file in the payload so they would never have to put the loader on the pc to update at all whatsoever. My switch is already modded so all I needed to do was rcm and put it in the switch. I made a new vid in fact to clarify and clear things up. You should fix this method it’s unnecessary for certain loaders
