Have had SC6000s and x1850 since early august, and they have been absolutely incredible. Can’t believe I was originally waiting for Pioneer’s new players, what a joke those turned out to be.

Imagine being dumb enough to think the 3000s are a joke lmao I’m guessing you play open format or genres where DJs think people came to see them ruin songs by manipulating them too much?

If i came from another planet and knew nothing of Pioneer DJs dominance in this market and saw reviews for these and the CDJ 3000s I'm pretty sure which one I would choose... These are incredible machines...and I've only had the sc5000's...I know Pioneer DJ kept their new cdj's familiar to the previous ones but they have really dropped the ball this time. I'd love to see Denon DJ make more in roads in to more clubs. Great review mate. Honest as always.

It's very encouraging to hear. 19:10 "...the roots of djing into media players", great line because in the age of modernity there are still some core things that should never let you forget how it all got started.

Pioneer will remain the club standard (for now) but IMO not for long. They’ve only been the industry standard because no player has bettered it until now. what Denon have done is Released a superior player for a cheaper price to capture the new generation of DJ’s who will buy them and soon demand them in clubs. Pioneer have really got a battle now and will have to lower prices or add features which they’ve clearly struggled/ haven’t bothered with the latter.

After many years have had the rare chance to purchase a pair of NXS2 last month, was outraged they sold to someone else just a day before, during my research of Denon Prime I was very impressed with Engine OS, a few days ago I scored a Prime Go and still in disbelief its in my possession more so than if I had those NXS2 tanks, I've never been more confident I made the right decision when it comes to electronics or toys in general.

I have a prime 4 just got it in the mail last week. Man I am impressed with this tech. I used to spin on vinyl 20 years ago. In fact I still have my mint condition 1200's and my rane mp2016. I quit the scene because I got married and had 3 kids and life just took over. Now I need a hobby and am jumping back in just for fun and a release. Man I love it. Music is my thing. I want to teach my son so I bought the prime 4 with the intention of giving it to him because the tech just make everything so user friendly. In fact too easy, however great to teach on because tracks are all visualized now. After watching this video I think I'm gonna buy a set of sc6000's too because the small jogs on the prime 4 kind of feel off and I want that pro feel again. Time to run up the credit card again lol. Wife is gonna be pissed!

I can always breathe a sigh of relief when I see that you've reviewed something I'm genuinely interested in purchasing. So, thanks for your honest and straightforward (no bs) thoughts, legit. With that said, I was hoping for a somewhat deeper dive into the, "...both players are dual layer devices which means you have control of and outputs for two separate decks in the same unit...you are getting two decks in one here...with instant doubling between layers," aspect. I mean, I get what you're saying, I was just hoping for a little more elaboration into that one aspect of the player. Anyways, regardless, thanks, man. Cheers.

There's a little beach club next to me, also kinda friend w the owner. Has... the "club standard" setup. Anyway, I did a couple of gigs there in the past but this day I was in just as a client there when some cabling/mixer malfunctioned, he asked me if I can do smth abt it/help. His face when I've pulled out the PrimeGo from the car, fired it up ON BATTERY and then mobile streamed any request on the spot... priceless. Long story short - club owners often listen to their DJs. The "standards" ARE changing, as we speak. And, yes, even the Go is superior in so many ways and has an impeccable sound card that would suit any system. Truth is, I've waited for so long for the "standard" to improve I just got tired of waiting - exactly what Mojax said (and happened w me too) w the iPhone screen - I was on i4s, seen the 5 then I thought, I'm kinda scammed here - moved to Samsung. Never looked back. Got the all-in-one P4 as it suits my (mobile) needs better, w the Go being my absolute fav toy in decades. It's a thing that if their competitors would've ever came up w it 1st, would've charged at least triple for it. And we all know it.

Dope. I got the SC6000s. I don't really pine for the M's "real vinyl" but I would totally go for an SC6000 player with the S4 Mk3 style motorized jogs, if only NI would licence them to Denon - they have a great way to control the damping even in static mode.

That was my concern on CDJ 3000. I have one since few month and I like the pads under the screen. I can’t tell if it’s better there than on the Denon’s but at least, I like their place on the 3000’s. Now, my heart is in between getting a second 3000 or sell mine and get a pair of 6000 M. Everything is pushing me to get the 6000 M but the only issue I have (in my head at least) is Engine Prime and if I have to go play in a club, how to work the library between Engine and Rekordbox on a way or the other and without having to do X manipulations to get it working smoothly.

@@DidierWolfs correct me if I’m wrong… the new Mixed in key app… can set a valid Cues For both…. Maybe don’t use any just use MIK to prep your sets… I honestly feel for you and the dilemma but if I was you… I’ll take what I love to use. Eg… If you want the Denon (I would have in this case as it’s a no brainier in terms of features/prices) I’ll adapt… ask about the club equipment and prepare playlist before head… can’t be that difficult and I’m pretty sure they can read most information between them softwares… other option is to use VIRTUAL DJ for all of them and it’s wayyyyyyy better than every DJ software ever made. And it would work like charm with both!!! In regards to the pads location… I might be question of getting used to them… I personally prefer where they have always been… but maybe because I’m also conditioned for that location

@@djblondie6115 thanks for trying and letting me know. i was going to order a "test" platter from an online parts centre for the sc5000m but now you have satisfied my curiosity. thanks again. just need to find what i can use as custom discs on the 6000m now grrr - my idea would prob vinyl wrap some 2mm acrylic cut discs to save my headache of searching rare 8"picture vinyls lol

I have a 6000m and a nexus 2 cdj and I hate to say this as i love the 6000m, but when comparing the digital outputs of both, the Nexus 2 has a better soundstage and sharper transients. It seems like they should be identical (especially at 0 pitch and no master tempo) but there's an audible difference. Possibly it's attributable to the subtle 'wobble' of the platter being detected and smearing the audio somewhat. I'm keen to do the same test with the standard sc6000s also as if the result is the same, then the cause lies outside the specifics of the 6000m.

My only real question is, how do the effects on the X1800\X1850 compare to the DB4...as far as I know Denon is the only company with matrix input switching, as a matter of fact I think they started it years ago on older models. But, A&H has on the DB4, plus those effects are astonishing...but, its almost a 10 year old mixer. I will be upgrading my setup soon and I keep debating the whether I should pair the 6000s with a DB4 or X1800.

not sure yet bud but thinking on why would you want serato? what benefits are there which you can't get with this setup? i think id rather use engine (future update) as a sole yet faster searching library if i was to use a laptop again in my setup. we'd assign per deck what track we wanted or create on the fly playlists to auto load on to each deck connected to engine "cough -DJ- cough" software. otherwise this is all what serato would do anyways. ....vdj has a different approach on the screen estate but again I'd only use it as a search and play library!!
@djductape
@djductape 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Stu, Serato would work like VDJ extending the screen and interactivity to the players. As nice as the standalone idea is. Denon has a lot to catch up on. 1. Smart crates. 2. Customizing the browser view, including resizing the information and customizing which metadata to display. 3. The browser view is far too small, especially with the digital keyboard pulled up. 4. Ability to hook up a keyboard that only works when in browser view. 5. Sample player. 6. No beat grid locking me down or screwing things up. I just DJ by ear. 7. Speed - I DJ on the fly, playing what's right at the moment, and I do not rely on playlists. With a large library, I can find and load songs much faster on a laptop. 8. I can go on but that's a start. With all that being said. I welcome a standalone experience that is less playlist orientated and more open format, on the fly oriented. I would love to ditch the computer for two smaller computers :)
