Thank for sharing this, very helpful. I was trying to connect a brand new arcana to a new Bose 900 soundbar and a 2016 model LG Oled TV. Visual connection worked but no audio with arcana saying e-arc not active. The software version in the “new” arcana was 0.8) which according to HD fury U.K. was the latest, fortunately HD Fury US showed much later downloads including version 0.84 which solved the problem. So for info a Bose 900 soundbar will not work with an HD Fury arcana unless it has latest (version 0.84 or later) software.

Great video. I was looking at this device for my Atmos soundbar w/ non Atmos tv. For those who are looking at this device because your TV doesn't support Atmos but soundbar does, i found another alternative solution that might work for you. If your soundbar has hdmi input, you can get a 4kfiretv stick or googletv and plug into the hdmi input. The audio will send straight to the soundbar and you can get Dolby Atmos. (The output of the soundbar will send the video of the device you using to the TV) Hopes this helps👍

Will this work with q950a soundbar? I have a q8fn tv only Arc.And want to conect my nvidia shield pro and my ps4.i understand when you get loseless atmos the soundbar will dispaly atmos.is that right?

I got myself one this week to link up to the Sonos beam gen 2 i now have, However i get sound but no picture when i plug the Hdmi (going from the Arcana) to the ARC port, If i plug it in to the Hdmi port next to it it then works, Odd!

Hi, I also have a beam 2 and want to get Atmos. Is this device good for that my TV doesn’t support it. Is the sound marginally better are way better than just DTS which is all I have at the moment

A tiny one will do it, under 1GB. The update file is tiny, 100-200MB.

If you are on MAC follow this instructions, because you will end file not found error message. How to format a USB Stick on Mac to update Arcana: 1. Plug in the USB Stick 2. Open up Disk Utility 3. View menu > Show All Devices 4. Find the device in the left sidebar of Disk Utility and select the parent node NOT the child node 5. Edit menu > Erase... 6. Name: ARCANA Format: MS-DOS (FAT) Scheme: Master Boot Record 7. Click "Erase"
